Big Red Sports Imports Bait and Switch Rip off Neil decided that it was time for a new car for safety reasons for the kids and I. It is hard for me to understand how a business that boast that it moves the most cars in the state of Oklahoma could make such a grievous mistake, go back on their word and then refuse to compromise over $280.00. I certainly believe that this Big Red’s Sports is not what they claim to be and should ashamed for the way they treated us as customers. Norman Oklahoma

Neil decided that it was time for a new car for safety reasons for the kids and I.  So he started looking and found several great deals.  One was in Norman, OK at a place called Big Red Sports and Imports. Neil got the paperwork sorted out with USAA and had several conversations by email and phone with the Sales Manager at Big Red.  One of the emails stated they had just dropped the price by $1000.00 and it was ours if we could get there by Saturday night. We got a sitter for the kids, and drove the 5 hours to Norman.  When we arrived, we test drove it and then started on the paperwork.  The next thing we know, Jeremy Silva, who is listed as an owner of the dealership comes out and says there has been a mistake.  The car is now $1000.00 more than the email deal we had already made.  He stated “It is not our mistake.”  However it was listed online and his employee made the deal.  Needless to say we were not happy.  Jeremy Silva then offered to trade my car in for the $1000.00 he had now added to the already agreed upon price. Knowing my car is worth more than that we declined that offer.  Neil and I talked and decided we would offer to meet them halfway; paying them $500 more than the original agreement. We spoke with Jeremy and told him we would meet him halfway on the price regardless of the fact that they would not honor the agreement they had with us originally.  Jeremy stated that he would drop the price by $280.00 and no more.  This did not even cover the amount of money we spent in gas on the 5 hour trip.  At this point, Neil and I decided that we would not deal with company that spelled Honor with L-I-E-S and Integrity with G-R-E-E-D.  We left Big Red Sports in Norman, OK and drove the 5 hours home. By the time we had reached Amarillo Big Red Sports had upped the price of the car by $3000.00.

RIPOFF

AUTHOR: JOHN123 - ()

I too had a horrible experience there. Dont expect to get internet price. Its a trick. Anyway, supposedly I was approved for a loan then 2 weeks later I was called and told that nothing had changed, but I needed to come in to resign some papers. Upon arrival they had a new contract which my interest had decreased 1% but my payment had increased $16 a month. When taking a closer look at the contract I noticed they added $1000 to the price of my warranty compared to the first contract. If I qualified for a lower interest rate, shouldnt that benefit me, not them? I ened up cancelling the deal and getting my trade in back which had 1600 more miles on it and damage they refused to fix. DONT DO BUSINESS HERE!!!!!

Thank you for posting your complaint. I was just chatting with Shane from Big Red. I asked him if he was familiar with "Ripoff Report.com". I told him I would be purchasing a car elsewhere

Bait and Switch

AUTHOR: Amber76 - ()

The Internet Sales Manager had already quoted us the price as it was also listed on the website.  She sent several emails confirming the price and quote "it will be ready to go when you get here." They had pulled it off the lot and reserved it for us.  It was contingent on arriving by closing time that evening, which we did.  It was a 5 hour drive for us and they tried to use this to harass us into the new price.  One of the salesmen said "you drove all this way, don't go away empty-handed."  If you don't feel this was a scam then by all means feel free to do business with them.  However, they lied to us, tried to justify their mistake by saying that it was an internet issue, but refused to address the fact that their sales manager had already promised us the car at that price.  We tried to meet them half-way but they refused that offer.  No business with true integrity would do that.

So where is the ripoff? Since you didn't sign anything then you were still in the "haggle" phase. Not a rip off. This is where your intellegance and consumer know how should have allowed you to negotiate a better deal. No rip off here just a consumer mad because they had to spend money and got nothing out of it.
