Blast fitness Ballys/ Blast fitness ABC Financial Blast fitness is not a "Blast" to work with. Internet
I opened a membership contract with Ballys fitness in 1989. On December 27th 2012 I signed a contract signing my son up for a membership to Bally's as well. His membership was to be off my original presidential membership ( To mirror mine) I paid my membership off having $3 a month dues for life. My son's contract was to be bi-weekly payments (with Ballys) of $8.99. All was well until Blast took over. I went through a long period where my account was inactive. On Dec 27th 2012 I paid my dues $36 (which was to be a years membership dues) My sons are to date coming out of my account bi weekly. On Feb 22,2013 I took my son to use the Gym facilities at which point they are unable to pull up my son's account. When they pull up mine they show both my account and my sons in a delinquent status. I inform them at this point that I had paid a full year on my account (when it was Bally's) and that I was still making payments on my sons which were being taken out of my account.
All is still good. I figured I would easily dig up the copy of the payment made in December for my year and show my son's account being still paid. On 2/26/2013 I go back to the club with the paperwork showing the date of the payment. At this point they correct my sons account (my paying account) and inform me I am going to have to forward a copy of my bank statement to their corporate office to be fixed.
I am still ok at this point in the conversation... but ask why there signs state monthly dues of $10 and I am being charged $18.98 per month. They state there is a premiere account which costs $22 monthly - they can upgrade my sons account to this (and mine at a fee) my Ballys account had been a premiere account. I show my original documentation. They state they don't have any record of that because it was previous to them having the account. I have my paperwork from Ballys that they took over. They will not credit my account the payment I had made in Dec (full dues for one year) and they will not provide the Premiere account I had paid for (even though I have the original paperwork from 1989 they will not honor. They will not refund me the over charged amount on my sons account and they will not give him the (upgrade) which my contract should have been- I can cancel the Bally's account for my son and rejoin paying a monthly fee- a starting fee and the dues to get the upgrade (not going to happen) the manager Who would not give me her full name (named Toni) stated that I needed to leave or she would call the police. They were rude... Disrespectful- the locker rooms were disgusting (dirty beyond belief) and they have me in collections for something I have paid in full to date.
I am terribly disgusted with the business and plan on writing a letter and canceling both memberships ASAP.
