I registered to be a member of blockbusteronline on December 10, 2006. I did this at the store. When I got home to pick my movies out so I could receive movies asap the site did not show any of my information. It showed only my address and showed me as not a member. When I emailed then they sent me a reply back that said I was not a member but they had my email address. I re-entered all the information and again nothing showed up in my account information. I then spoke with a person from Blockbuster who talked me through putting information in through editing. This worked but still it showed me as not a member. I finally spoke with someone from customer service with the online site. this lady told me she saw where I had two accounts under my name, one with a membership but no movies and one with movies but no membership. We both agreed this was very strange and she assured me I would not get charged a membership fee and the two week trial membership would start the day I spoke with her. The next day or two later my account was charged the membership fees. When I emailed the 24 hour support service I tried to explain the problem and tell them what I was told by customer service. Every email had a reply telling me I used up my trial period and my membership started December 10, 2006. I must have tried at least 8 emails telling them this had been extended and that I already spoke with customer service who agreed to extend the period. They would not back up customer service and stuck to saying I used up my free trial membership. I finally told them I was tired of this and I do not want this online membership. They finally put the membership fees back into my account but in the meantime cost me $35 in overdraft fees and refused to fix their mistake.
