I received an email on 8/17/2007 stating the Blcokbuster's Total Access was raising their price from 17.99 per month to 24.99 per month effective 8/31/2007. My billing date was the 4th of every month and I last paid on 8/4/2007 making my account current until 9/4/2007. The email said my account would be marked as Inactive until I chose a new plan. I decided not to choose a new plan. I don't think that raising your prices by 39% with two weeks notice is good business practice so I chose not to do business with them in the future.

However, they immediately canceled my account. All movies were returned to them by 8/26/2007 and they refuse to ship anymore to me even though my account is current until 9/4/2007. Emails to their enept customer service reps result in canned replies about service agreements and no refunds and now they just ignore me. I've been a Blockbuster customer for about twenty years. Well, you know what Blockbuster? You can go screw yourselves! I just tore up my Blockbuster card. I will cost you a lot more than the 19.00 or so that you ripped off from me! I'll also be first in line for any class action lawsuits that I'm sure will follow because of your deceptive if not illegal actions.

service cancelled

when one is paying for a service and that service is cancelled, there should be a prorated refund. this is common for any type of service.

she agreed to pay xx amount for blockbuster service for the month. blockbuster cancelled that service. sound like breach to me...

in all fairness, blockbuster is a good service that has no true competition. neflix doesn't even compare, nor does hollywood videos. supply and demand in action.

there's always the highspeed warez route...

....what did they do that was deceptive? Did you happen to read the Terms & Conditions of the Total Access plans? You should have, there are at least two sections that apply here :

1) "CHANGES TO TERMS AND CONDITIONS
Blockbuster may at any time, and at its sole discretion, modify these Terms and Conditions of Use, including without limitation the Privacy Policy, with or without notice. Such modifications will be effective immediately upon posting. You agree to review these Terms and Condition of Use periodically and your continued use of this Site following such modifications will indicate your acceptance of these modified Terms and Conditions of Use. If you do not agree to any modification of these Terms and Conditions of Use, you must immediately stop using this Site."

2) "Blockbuster initiated Cancellations. Blockbuster may suspend or cancel a BLOCKBUSTER Online membership account, or otherwise restrict your use of BLOCKBUSTER Online, in Blockbuster's sole discretion, with or without cause. "

The terms and conditions are easy to find, and written in english. By you using their services you are agreeing to their terms. How in the world can you complain about them exercising their rights?

You have not presented any evidence of anything done being "illegal" let alone "deceptive" You should not make statements like this without anykind of facts to back up those statements.
