I received a call from a collections agency for the unpaid computer I purchased from Blue Hippo. See, the thing is, I NEVER purchased a computer from them, nor did I ever live in the city the computer was shipped to. According to the records the collection agency has,this computer was purchased using MY credit information and a couple of payments were made towards the computer but there is NO record (according to them) of who made these payments. Now, I have collectors wanting ME to pay for an account I never opened. In fact, the time the computer was purchased, I didn't even own a computer. I asked for proof that I signed a release for purchase, or anything that can tie me to this computer but they only have my social security number. Nothing with MY signature, Nothing showing I made those couple payments. And the collection agency refuses to look into this claim, or give me any information as to who may have taken my SS number, where exactly the computer was delivered to, any canceled checks from payment, ANYTHING to resolve this issue effecting MY credit.
