Well I called many many times on Monday from 9am -9pm central time and left several messages. No one returned my calls so needless to say I began to have serious doubts about a company where you are unable to reach the person. I called again first thing Tuesday morning and suprise she answered. I asked her if she had a chance to see what my interest rate would be and she said she hadnt begun to process my order yet and it would be Wednesday before she got back to me. I then told her "no, I need to know now because I am not going to pay 24.9% interest and Wednesday is the cut off point for the 3 day cancellation." She then informed me that the 24.9% interest is their interest rate and since I was going to cancel she would give my file to Mr. Allen Shenker and have him call me as she is not authorized to handle cancellations.
I called Mr. Shenker numerous times Tuesday and left 2 voice mails and of course still no answer. So I typed up a letter of cancellation, left work early, went to the post office and sent the letter overnight express (16.00 worth every penny to get away from this company). Checked usps website today and it was at the location at 9:30a.m Wednesday. I have spent a good portion of the day trying to reach this Mr. Shenker to no avail. Finally reached Mrs. Payne again to ask her if she had indeed sent my file to him and she said she did and could not answer as to why he has not called me. Then she asked me if I had a receipt from the post office showing when it was sent and I told her of course. She said she would get the information to him again and get him to call me.
I know my bases are covered but I also have called my bank and had a stop payment put on my deposit check with a note that the reason for the stop payment is due to cancellation within the legal 3 day contract cancellation period (after all no need for them to cash my check if there is no contract). I have also contacted my attorney who is ready to nail them to the wall if they so much as think about putting ink to a piece of paper to place a lien on my property. So hopefully I wont have to go through what some of you have.
One of these days I will learn to do a complete research on a company before even considering doing business with them in which there is alot of money involved.
