2: I quote one of your sentences in said message to me: "the big issue here is that you were never properly instructed in how to use your points"
3. I now quote a sentence from your most recent message: "....I didn't mean to imply that you were lied to or even misled"
HAHAHA!!!! Wow, it's all right there in writing, man! For the whole world to see!
Yep, I have to agree with Disgusted! You are most definately an employee of Bluegreen! You've got that stench about the way you speak, twisting everything we say and back peddling to cover your lies. I'm through with you.
You can go right ahead and spew your lies and deception all you want, I'm not even going to read them anymore. I hope you have a nice life after Bluegreen has been sued by every Attorney General in every state of the nation. And don't think it isn't coming! If I were you I'd start looking for a new job now! ...but please try something where you can be honest...it's refreshing to be able to tell the truth to people...try it once!
You are scum, like the rest of them!
P.S. We purchased at the time we had our own business, and were able to vacation anytime we wanted, for as long as we wanted. We intended to use the points to give our employees the option of using Bluegreen locations for vacations, as a bonus for longevity, safety programs, and incentives. We also had intended to use Bluegreen as a place for business meetings. How would that look to perspective clients when they walked in for our meeting, and saw that bottemless sink cupboard????!!!! It certainly would not have helped to gain their business!!! And the employees who would stay there, they would have thought we were screwing them by putting them up in a place like that!!!
The forecast for our business was good until 9/11. A year after that we had to close, because we were indirectly affected, and our business went from flourishing, into the toilet. Since we were indirectly affected, we did not qualify for any type of government help...we were left on our own, being forced to become employees, not being able to use the points as we intended, due to being held to dictated vacation times. Life changed drastically for us, therefore we have been unable to conform to having to vacation according to whatever time and location may be available when we called for reservations!
You are completely wrong...We would have been happy with the presidential suite....Hell, we would have been happy with a 1 bedroom cottage....AS LONG AS IT WASN'T IN TOTAL DISREPAIR LIKE ALL THE OTHER PLACES WE'VE STAYED AT!
Yes, Muncie, you are and IDIOT!
Disgusted, you made the right call!

Tried to call them, but got a recording saying that phone number was out of service and we were not provided with an alternate phone number. We called Bluegreen, and they played dumb, saying they never heard of Pinnacle, and certainly would never have recommended them. It was during an owners upgrade meeting that we were given their information, promising a quick sale, so it was face to face with the agent. It's unfortunate that we never wrote down whom we spoke with or the dates that we were unsuccessful in booking reservations. We just didn't think we needed to.
Here's what he said:
I am sorry to hear you are going through this. There is no record of any class action suits against this company, but from what you described about them not allowing you to use your points when you have tried, you can seek to sue them yourselves for breach of contract and you can also notify the collection agency in writing that you dispute this debt as invalid under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act as the company is in breach of contract and as such you have terminated the contract with them as being invalid.
Sadly, you will end up having to file suit against this company for breach of contract and you can seek refund of all of the money you paid as well as termination of the contract based on their failure to ever fulfill your requests as promised in your contract. Furthermore, you can file a complaint with the Attorney General's consumer protection unit where their company is located to investigate them for unfair and deceptive practices.
Aside from that, depending on the rest of your debts and assets, you could possibly consider filing bankruptcy and including this in the bankruptcy, since them reporting this on your credit has already hurt your credit score.
Concerning a class action law suit: You would need some form of proof, phone records or even your own records as to the dates you called and the dates you were asking for reservations and were told there were none. Without such proof, yes, your case is very week. Also, the new information provided that you were able to get alternative dates would also hurt a breach of contract claim against them.
A class action suit is something that starts like any other suit, one person files suit and then others who have had substantially similar claims against the company would join in and once 20+ plaintiffs join in then the attorney may apply to the court to have the case certified as a class action. The person who initiates pays the initial filing costs and generally stands to gain a bit more than those who join in later and the fees are typically awarded by the judgment or are shared by all members of the class out of a percentage of the final judgment.

The 4 times in 12 years that we have been able to stay at a Bluegreen resort, the grounds seem to be full of activities for everyone, however, in every single instance, the cabin, condo or townhome we stayed in were in tremendous disrepair, or had infestations of HORNETS, or they're missing essentials like ice cube trays or silverware. The last place we stayed, in Wisconsin Dells, was a condo that had no bottom to the cupboards underneath the sink, there were no drawers, only shelves below the counter tops, the wallpaper in both bathrooms was half peeled off, some of the windows would not open, the ceiling fan in the bedroom did not work.
We called for maintenence (not for the wallpaper or cupboards...we certainly didn't expect them to get those things repaired for us), and as we were standing in the kitchen, discussing how poorly kept it was, he asked me to point out what I was referring to. When I opened the door to the cupboard under the sink, his jaw dropped. Then I took him into the bathroom to show the wallpaper, and he was aghast at that also. Now, I don't know if he was a great actor, or if he truly was shocked by this. Being in the maintenence department, I would think he'd be aware of at least the kitchen cupboard.
When we first arrived at that location, and noticed the major problems, we did call to the office to see if we could get a different place to stay. We were even willing to switch to a 1 bedroom cottage. There were none available. As far as we can tell, their places are shabby at best, bordering on ghetto. And we are left to wonder what our $1,000 annual fees go toward. I'd love to take a look at their financial records.

They tried to get us to upgrade to premium so that we could "use the points as they were intended to be used", so that we could make reservations further in advance, and reap "all the wonderful benefits of being a premium member". blehhh!!! And that would include purchasing another 8,000 points! For God sake! We ALREADY have 12,000 that we can't use, why on earth would anyone purchase more?!!!
HA! When we originally purchased our points, they informed us that we would have priority status where reservations were concerned. But we weren't told that they would impose an upgrade preventing their existing members from being able to continue to use the program as we were promised we could, nor was this information in the contract we signed. In cases like this, companies will generally grandfather you into their program upgrades automatically, no charge, no requirement to invest more money.
We were also told that we could sell or rent our points at anytime. We tried selling, nobody wants it. We've tried renting, nobody wants to rent. We've resorted to trying to GIVE it away, and NOBODY WANTS IT BECAUSE THEY KNOW THEY'D BE STRAPPED FOREVER WITH THE EXOHORBITANT ANNUAL EVER INCREASING FEES!!!
We have even asked Bluegreen if they wanted to take the points back, no charge, and they refused! HAHAHA!!! If they turned around and sold them to some poor green sucker who doesn't know how Bluegreen sucks your wallet right out of your pocket, they'd stand to make approximately $3.25 per point! Why wouldn't they take their own product back? It's not like we bought a pair of shoes and want to return them after wearing them! They're points, and I would think points is points, no matter who previously owned them, or if they've never been owned! Non of what they do makes sense!
And if you're so happy with your Bluegreen points, then PLEASE CONTACT ME IMMEDIATELY AND WE'LL GO AHEAD AND ADD OUR 12,000 ANNUAL POINTS TO YOURS, FREE FOR THE TAKING! AND WE'LL EVEN PAY THE $250 TRANSFER FEE TO GET IT DONE! LET'S DO THIS TODAY!!
Give me one valid reason why you wouldn't do that! YOU would be stupid not to do it!
If you'd rather have me give you the syrupy smiles with fake charm oozing from every pore, dreamland promises, and confusing language that the sales people at Bluegreen use, I can do that too!
And if you use the excuse that this forum doesn't allow personal information to be exchanged, you're full of bullcrap! There are ways around that!
...well, we already know that you're full of bullcrap...that's a given.

You say that we look stupid for not reading the contract before signing? When you purchase a car, you've got the lemon law to fall back on. When you purchase a house, you've got recourse if something is wrong with it. Yes, we read the contract before we signed. The contract, however, did not say that it would be impossible to get reservations at any Bluegreen property during YOUR specified dates and at YOUR specified location. It did not say that the annual fees would be raised EVERY year until it becomes a financial burden.
Everything they told us was a lie. They pushed the fact that this could be a legacy to leave to our children or grandchildren. If I left this to them, they would hate me for it, because they'd then be strapped with this ever rising annual rip off!
If you're so happy with it, we'll give ours to you and we'll even pay the $250 transfer fee! Please let me know. You can have it! No charge!
Liberty....excellent work. I will do that immediately. Also, please contact me as soon as you get this. My email is at Yahoo under the username cybershu. You can't post email addresses here unfortunately but it's pretty easy to figure out. There is currently a class action suit forming against BG. I have the contact info if your are at all interested. Email me and I'll send you the information.
Bluegreen is in fact the single worst, most unethical company in existence. Soon, very soon they are going to have to make restitution for their piss poor business practices.
My thing is, they pressured and lied to me in the presentation. Call and complain, write and complain about them so consumers know about this company.
I have been researching and stumbled upon ARDA from a Wyndham timeshare victim. Bluegreen is a member of ARDA (American Resort Development Association) and it's like the BBB but exclusive to timeshare companies. I went to their site and found out about their code of ethics by which these timeshare companies should comply to, to become and remain a member. In their code of ethics, under General Ethics Requirements, sections B and C:
B. Information, Descriptions and Disclosures.
1. Information, descriptions, or disclosures required by any applicable law, regulation and the Code, whether oral, written, or graphic, must be accurate and clear.
2. Information, descriptions, or disclosures required by any applicable law,
regulation and the Code must be consistent with one another (oral sales presentations or transaction descriptions, for example, must not conflict with sales literature or transaction documents).
3. If written, the information, descriptions, or disclosures required by any applicable law, regulation and the Code must be easily located, conspicuous, and readable.
C. Avoidance of False and Deceptive Statements. Statements made by Members,
including but not limited to, all sales and solicitations:
1. Must not convey false, untrue, deceptive, or misleading information through statements, testimonials, photographs, graphics, or other means; and
2. Must not omit material information without which the solicitations or sales
information would be deceptive or misleading, or which would affect consumer decisionmaking.
3. Must not convey false, untrue, deceptive or misleading information, with
regard to competing Firms and their Development Activities or, through statements, testimonials, photographs, graphics or other means. It shall be deemed deceptive to refer to or provide copies or excerpts of articles or statements or the like published in the print, broadcast or other media pertaining to a lawsuit or government agency action prior to final judgment or other final action on such matter, including but limited to completion of all appeals.
As far as my case is concerned, Bluegreen did all these on the day of presentation. And for the other BG members who have been victimized by their deceptive, high pressure sales tactics, this is a great resource to fight them. I already sent my complaint and you can try this, too.

A few quotes from Jack :
"...Customers who tour with me are told..." Translation, Jack gives tours of Bluegreen resorts. Hmmmm....I wonder what Jack does for a living.
"...We do have some accomendations which are to small, or near train tracks..." We Jack, we have some accomendations (you mean accomodation of course). We, as in the theiving, lying, scum of the earth Bluegreen sales sluts.
Thousands of good people are being legally robbed by this evil corporation. If you are reading this an haven't purchased a Bluegreen timeshare --- DONT!!!! Please for you own good DONT!!!

SUBMITTED: Monday, April 05, 2010
Hahahaha....."We do have some accomendations which are....."
Nice slip up Jack. Interesting good cop, bad cop thing your doing.
I'll give the devil his due. The resort I got to stay at the one and only time I was able to get time booked (5 YEAR AGO, in 2005) was nice. It really was, and we had a good time.
My "beef" with this company is this....they have 220000 owners and claim to have 52 resorts (which is horse sh$t too). But, let say they're not lying (impossible). Do the math...if they actually OWNED the units for all 52, they would need a minimum of 85 units per resort to accomodate EVERY SINGLE OWNER for a week, all year long....ALL YEAR LONG. Guess what that means Jack. Half of the 220000 (which is 110000 for you Bluegreen employees that failed out of Jr. High) are staying at Mertle Beach in February, or Branson in March, or Daytona in January....IF, IF THEY HAVEN'T SOLD THOSE ROOMS TO RCI!!!! - I was told personally by the sales manager of the Branson coven that in off seasons, Bluegreen sells huge blocks (if not all blocks) of their entire resorts to other timeshare resorts (RCI, Wyndham ect...) for a fraction of what they would get otherwise. They write off the difference from what they rent them for at full price during peak season (that has to be criminal). The other time share company advertises them at full price during the off season and writes off the loss with the IRS just like BG. The resort sits empty (no overhead costs), BG gets cash flow they wouldn't have otherwise and BOTH get a write off that benefits them tax wise...that is what I was told by a BG employee. Not my words, HIS!
Add too that...NOW, they are holding a large percentage of their inventory for CASH ONLY customers for PEAK TIMES.
Bluegreen sales whores will lie and say you can vacation at any one of the wonderful resorts, any time you want....just let them know at least 30 days in advance. No, no you cant. That is complete lie. As an owner you MIGHT get a week somewhere crappy when it's cold an rainy...IF YOUR LUCKY!
Soon, very soon, the truth is coming out.

My experience with Bluegreen
AUTHOR: Jack - (United States of America)
SUBMITTED: Saturday, April 03, 2010
I have been an owner of bluegreen for 3 years. I have stayed at Myrtle beach, Shenandoah crossing, and the Williams burg resort. I have never had a [roblem with a bluegreen employee. My Fiance has stayed at Disneyworld, and Hershey park. She has been inovlved with Bluegreen for 10 years. She has had a couple of bad experiences. Nobody's perfect and occassionally someone screws up.
The treatment you get on a business presentation, bluegreen gives you a gift as a marketing tool will vary by resort and the employee you get. I just recently talked to a customer who had finished her sampler. She was able to get 5 weeks vacation out of it! THis is not typical a week or possibly a week plus a couple of days is more common, but it shows what is possible.
The places I stay are generally spacious, clean and well maintained. We do have some accomendations which are to small, or near train tracks, they cost less and are availiable last minute. Luckily I haven't stayed at those places. If I have a problem, I call the front desk and expect it to be taken care of quickly. I have always felt like a king on vacation even when I am going on a tight budget. The resort near me as recently added a new pool area. I enjoy going there for day use and I spend no money and no points. I am still treated as an owner.
Bluegreen isn't for everyone, but we strive to offer value for the dollar and quaility service. Customers who tour with me are told the limitations of saved points and other negatives. There are many psoitives which outweigh the negatives in my opinion.
The person who asked why a bluegreen owner would visit this site is correct. It is unpleasant to read such bitter comments that contradict my expereince. I don't expect to be back. Still I could not resist relating my side of the story.

You are the Idiot you Bluegreen gutter trash. Why don't you go do something productive with you worthless life instead of cheating good people out of their hard earned money you pond scum.
If you are thinking about buying a BG vacation package....DONT! Save yourself tons of money and even more headaches and stress. People that come to Ripoff Report, or any other consumer complaints site to tell you how wonderful Bluegreen is WORK FOR BLUEGREEN.
They are liars, they are thieves, and they DO NOT care about you, or your family. They get together at Applebees after a day of cheating people and brag about how they screwed you and your family and how it's not their fault your so stupid.
Mike...clearly you can't read - you Moron.
You admit you are Bluegreen Corporate scum. Enough said. Your worthless life has amounted to little more than you stealing from good people, and helping your masters in Florida steal from honest hard working Americans. Something I know for a fact you know little about - honesty that is. You are a cancer among us Mike. A festering black cancer.
As far as Idiots go, I assure you, I am FAR more educated than you, have more money than you, and have done more and will do more for the betterment of my fellow man than pond scum like you ever will. That being said....I say to ANYONE thinking about buying into this GRADE F by the Better Business Bureau company....RUN IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION.
Oh, and Mike.....well, you'll find out.

Hi there,
My name is Arijana, and my husband and I are very interested in joining your lawsuit. If you need anything please contact me, i tried to find a lawyer myself, but because of signed contract, none of them wanna take the case. Bluegreen lied to us about everything about this "vacation package" in order to sell time share and collect their profit. I know we should ahve had a lawyer looking over the contract or reading it ourself, but it's so long and we were on the vacation for another two days and then drove home another two days. So..... If anyody needs testimony or has a lawyer, please let me know.
Thank you
