I signed for a Wordpress hosting account and new domain with Bluehost.com under the misconception that their pricing for their "Pro Edition" was $19.99 per month. What the did not inform me of was that the pricing was to be billed all upfront until it was charged for a total of $239.88. When I discussed this with customer service, one of their service representatives took over 16 minutes to reply to a request and then informed me that they could do the pricing based on a per month basis but it would cost an additional $9.99 per month. Furthermore, when I requested a refund, they informed me that it would take 7-10 days to get the money back that they had just charged. I requested that they void the charge as they had just run the transaction vs refund it and they informed me that they could not do that. I was then informed that for me to keep the domain I just got, I would have to keep the billing at the $239.88. So basically, I was being extorted to either sign up for their service for an entire year, regardless of their customer service, or risk losing the domain name I wanted. I feel that this company is completely unethical in their business practices and that they are conning people into an unfair billing practice.
