I ordered one of their products, MIOPLEX around the first of June. I paid by credit card. Found the product was worthless and had no plans to reorder. 60 days later I received another order and my credit card was again charged. I called their customer service and was told I had agreed to a subscription service as a preferred customer and they would ship every 60 days. Told them I had not agreed to any such thing and that it wasn't mentioned in my conversation when ordering.

Then they said it was stated in a brochure they sent with the product and that it was my responsibility to have read the brochure. I returned the product in its original unopened package by certified, registered mail on July 29. One of their employees, Sam Grote signed for the return on August 1. I also notified my credit card bank and had them put the second charge in dispute. Yesterday I got a letter from Boland stating that I would have to complete an enclosed form, sign it, have it notarized complete with notary seal or they would not honor any charge back or give me a credit.

The fun part is the form starts off " I don't wish to have better orgasms and then several questions to be answered. They recommended I take the form to my bank to be notarized. I guess they think people will be too embarrassed to do this and they would be off the hook.

I'm a retired banker so I didn't have a problem getting it notarized without the notary reading it. I sent the form back to them today all signed and notarized and can't wait to see what happens next.

Signed and notorized

AUTHOR: Penny - (U.S.A.)

I think that it should be a law that inorder to automatically charge your credit card for an auto shipment that the company should send you a form that needs to be signed and notorized. This makes it clear to the consumer. If they are legitmate business they will put a little effort into there sales and their customers. Not just expect an automatic payment. What if I went into the grocery store and bought a bottle of vitamins when I hand them my credit card I am authorizing them to use it one time and one time only. It should be the same online. Unless I have "personally" signed some sort of an agreement.

As PT Barnum once said, "there's sucker born every minute".

AUTHOR: Thomas - (U.S.A.)

It is unfortunate to have fallen for this scam. Buyer Beware!

I have made it a point to never, ever, under any circumstances, purchase anything that is not available in a retail store.

Until the consumer wises up, these type of companies will continue to prey on the "sucker". Remember sales #101. "It's a numbers game."

Just don't let yourself be one of those "numbers".

Just because people aren't savvy doesn't mean they should be scammed!

AUTHOR: Tim - (U.S.A.)

Jake, as much as I hate to admit it, you're absolutely right. However, you are ignoring the culpability of the comapnies that market these various "snake oils." You would be surprised at what a huge percentage of our population buys into this herbal voodoo. Companies like the one in question here were set up to capitalize on societal medical ignorance, and they do quite well with it.

The ignorance of the consumer is not the issue here. The issue is that many companies have used this ignorance to prey on people who are willing to shell out an awful lot of money for garbage that is purported to be superior to traditional medicine. More specifically, the issue is that many such companies have begun using "autoship" and "recurrent billing" programs that further decieve these poor saps into wasting even more money on a product they have found out first hand does not work.

So, while I agree with you that our culture could use a little education on "junk science," and I too hope that some of these people learn a lesson from this experience, I think your victim blaming is a little inappropriate.

Thank-You

AUTHOR: Jeff - (U.S.A.)

I'd like to say thank-you for those who have written to explain the obvious bad faith business that has been going on. I read the add in Boating magazine and was just getting ready to order on line when I did my yahoo search. At the end of the search was this web site, badbusinessbureau.com with multiple complaints regarding the product and company. Thanks to those who shared their experience so I (and others) could avoid getting ripped off... Excellent Website!!!!!

OK, Lets Learn From This

AUTHOR: Jake - (U.S.A.)

First of all, there are no magic herbal pills that make you have better orgasms, grow a bigger penis, or anything else of the sort. I think its hysterical what stupid things people will fall for!!! Ha Ha!!!

Some herbs can boost your sex drive, if you take them in MASSIVE quanities (almost the equivelent of half a $60 bottle of these stupid pills you bought from some lame magizine ad).

If you want the herbs why don't you go to a reputable health food store and buy them for the $3 a bottle they're actually worth, and plan on eating about half a bottle A DAY of the stinking things.

I still think its hysterical what stupid things people will fall for (trying to catch my breath). Ok lets be reasonable, intelligent grown ups here and send a written letter with our signature on it telling our credit company thet this product does not deliver the results it promised.

Now lets call or write the stupid snakeoil salesmen and tell them that we aren't paying for the pils they sent us and that if they'd like them back they can send us a return shipping box. Now if they mail us any more magical penis pills we're just going to write "refused delivery return to sender" on them and if any more charges apppear on our credit card we're going to call or write our card company and say we didn't order any more penis pills and we never signed any penis pill contract.

And next time we see an advertisement for any tapes or videas that will magically change our lives, bracelets or pills that will make us feel better/ lose weight, hypnosis tapes to make us lose weight, pick up the opposite sex, or stop smoking we're gonna remember what a pathgetic sucker we were with the stupid penis pills and not fall for it!!!!!!!!!!

What brochure?

AUTHOR: Bruce - ()

To the owner (Greg),

I was ripped off like so many others but would like to know what paper work is supposed to come with the shipment. I did not recieve anything except 1 bottle of mioplex. I did not know of the "Auto-ship" scam. I did receive a a paper with the "Auto-ship" you sent me without my requesting and you charged my credit card without my permission.

I have reported this to the Better Business Bureau and will pursue it farther.

There is enough going on in the world without people like you ripping others off.

Subscription or "Autoship"

AUTHOR: - ()

Bolands response is nothing more than BS. What is the difference between the two terms. Why don't they tell you when you place the order that they are going to "autoship" every 60 days. Here is what the brochure says that "fully" explains their program.

"An existing customer who has already realized the benefits of the stronger, more pleasurable orgasms provided by Mioplex Pure Extract, we are instituting the Mioplex Established Customer Guarantee (MECG) which will insure our existing customers will continue to experience the maximum benefits of Mioplex:

1. Your product will never be out of stock. Inventory reserves will be kept on hand to fulfill all existing customer programs

2.Product is expedited through processing, shipping and delivery.

3. All existing customers are billed at the discounted price of $69.95 plus shipping.

If for any reason you wish to discontinue with this program, please call us at 1-866-MIOPLEX, day or night. There are no obligations and you can cancel at any time. This program is our courtesy to you, to ensure that you never go without Mioplex Pure Extract, nature's answer for stronger more pleasurable orgasms.

Now, doesn't this clearly explain the "autoship" program and that they are going to ship to you every 60 days?????

This is the only language in the brochure, where does it mention "AUTOSHIP, Mr Boland?????

Mioplex is a definite RIP-OFF

AUTHOR: Monica - ()

My husband and I thought it would be worth it to spice up our sex life. So we ordered Miolex from Boland Naturals. After realizing that it didn't do a thing we said oh well we learned our lesson not to order anything that wasn't 100% guaranteed. Forgetting about the pills we went on with our lives until about a month later I received my bank statement that showed a debit of 69.95 out of our account that wasn't authorized. After calling the customer service line and was told that we had an agreement of auto-ship and we should have read the material that came with our first order, I was heated. So I had them send me the authorization form that had to be notorized. I don't really care what people think but I just wanted everyone to know that we were ripped off royally. So after sending back the info they requested and the unopened package I am still waiting for our money back. It has now been 3 weeks. I also just found out today that they are providing the incorrect address which charged my UPS bill an extra $10.00. For those of you who don't want to get ripped off even more the correct address is:

LIFEKEY HEALTHCARE

BOLAND NATURALS

10877 Millington Ct.

Cincinnati, OH 45242

I hope I don't have to get my attorney involved in this.

#10 REBUTTAL Owner of company

From the President

AUTHOR: Greg - ()

I feel that it is only fair that I get the opportuntity to respond to Mr. Lon Gammage's complaint.

What we have is an autoship program, not a "subscription" program. Included with each shipment of our product is a piece of literature fully explaining how our Established Customer Program works. It also includes a toll-free phone number for the customer to call and cancel, no questions asked. This is a program we put into place as a convenience to our customers and was a result of numerous customer requests, who obviously disagree with Mr. Gammage's opinion on the value of the product.

I find it unfathomable that an individual, such as Mr. Gammage, would purchase a dietary supplement and not read the literature that comes with it.

Our Established Customer Program is widely used by many companies, such as Time-Life, Columbia House, and BMG and we certainly do everything in our power to inform the consumer.
