I have shipped a few things via Bongo in the past, and have always been surprised at how much their fees are. They are not considerably cheaper than USPS or FedEx.

It's not very clear unless you read the FAQ that their fee does not include all landed shipping costs, including duty in the recipients country.

They are not easy to use either.

I have shipped things with them before, but last time round they wanted a copy of two forms of ID, which I was not comfortable with giving. My stuff would not be shipped otherwise. They wanted a form to be filled out for the USPS, which I've never had to do before.

There was no facility to fill this form in online. They suggested scanning the documents. They seem to think that everyone just has a scanner lying around.

They don't recognise UK based debit cards, only credit cards, so while they are happy to take my fee each month from my debit card, when I tried to ship my stuff, I got error messages saying that my transacion data was bad. This meant I had to re-rgister my credit card in order to ship my stuff. This of course meant going to battle with their stupid system of charging a small amount to my card and then me having to confirm it, which took well over a week.

Basically it was a bunch of car stuff, and I had an appointment at the shop to get my car fixed, and had a week to get the stuff here. No problem, thought I because they ship the stuff pretty quickly.

But all this arsing around their end meant that my stuff only just got here in time.

What's worse is that two parking brake cables I ordered, which were received at their warehouse, they lost.

How can they lose stuff if they consolidate it all?

Furthermore, when I picked my stuff up from DHL it was in two packages. But I thought they consolidated it all into one package to reduce shipping costs???

I've read lots of bad things about Bongo since this debacle, and I'm never going to use them again.

Stay well away folks, find another shipping company to bring you stuff over from the US.
