Boost Mobile stole money from my account and they are trying to cover it up! I've been with Boost Mobile for a few years. About I year ago, I enrolled in their auto-boost program where they deduct your monthly charges from the credit card that you give them. At the time I signed up, I had $9 in my account at Boost. I thought that they would use the $9 first, then deduct the rest from my credit card, but they just billed my CC for the entire amount, so, I've had the $9 balance for nearly a year. Four weeks ago, I changed handsets. When I logged into my Boost account, it showed the ever-present $9 balance. I tried to switch handsets online, but the system was acting weird and wouldn't do it, so I went to a local Radio Store who sells Boost, and they did it for me. When he was doing the handset changeover the RS clerk asked for my PIN. I gave it to him, but when I got home I logged into my Boost account to change my PIN for security purposes. When I logged in, now all of the sudden my account balance is only $4! I checked my account activity for the previous 90 days (the longest Boost will let you search) and they showed no account activity? I called Boost customer service and they said the same thing--there were no charges to my account (like ringtones, etc.) and there hadn't been for over a year. So, where did my $5 go?!? Well, fortunately for me, when I tried to change handsets and the Boost system wouldn't let me, I took a screen capture of the page in case I had any problems with activation. That screen capture shows the $9 balance!!! So, I don't know if someone at Boost is skimming money out of people's accounts without Boost knowing about it (seems unlikely) or, if Boost is intentionally skimming money out of people's accounts, but, I do know it's happening--and I have proof. I called Boost a few days ago and asked to speak to a manager. I explained the problem to them and explained that while I could care less about $5, what I DO care about is money disappearing from my account with no record of it happening. The manager was reasonably patient, but insisted that the system showed my balance had been only $4 for over a year and there was nothing they could do. It was only after telling him that I had a screen shot of my account balance that he started changing his tune, asking that I send it in to them for "verification" and then they would consider putting the $5 back in my account.....The bottom line is that Boost is skimming (i.e. stealing) money from prepaid account balances and I have proof!!
