I placed 3 different orders with this on-line company to have her custom make some wood signs for me. These orders began in September of 2008 right through present time. I paid her for all of the items thru Paypal and when nothing was coming in I began to contact her via e-mail. Days went by, and then I finally filed a complaint against her thru Paypal. They were able to refund me a small portion of what I had paid and said that they would do what they could to get the rest of the money for me. In the meantime she supplied me with a false tracking number for my shipments and then turned around and e-mailed me telling me that she must have given me somone elses tracking number instead-never offering me an accurate tracking number for my shipment of items. To this day there is no proof that any items were ever made nor shipped for that matter. I contacted her again telling her that she had to make arrangements now with paypal so that I could be reimbursed all of the money which I have paid. She tells me her bank account has been frozen by Paypal and there is nothing she can do. I noticed on her website she has all sorts of problems with customers offering all of them a 10% off coupon with there items as they have all been so patient (whatever that means.) 3 months later I am still out the money and the items and this woman refuses to fix this problem-she is putting it all on PayPal and my argument is-I did business with her and she was paid for products that she never delivered on---PayPal is just the middleman who transfers the money from buyer to seller. I'm angry and I don't want this woman to take advantage of anymore people.

It Does Apply......

AUTHOR: Customergrudge - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, January 29, 2009

If in fact you are the New Owner....you assume all assets as well as all liabilities and indebtedness associated with that business....like it or not. So, to say as a New Business owner that this has nothing to do with you is false. Mary peck would have had to file Bankruptcy in order to remove any indebtedness. Congrtulations----you just incurred all of her problems.

I assume I am going to be forced to change my website name in order to conduct business of any kind.

Bootleggers Bluff Took my money also, never received my order.

AUTHOR: Shawn - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Thursday, January 15, 2009

Like the previous person's complaint, we placed an order that we never received. My wife placed the order in November, intended to be Christmas presents. About a week before Christmas I e-mailed to check on my order. On December 23rd, she e-mailed me to say my order has been shipped and sorry for the delay but they all had the flu, and it was really cold, etc.

I still have not received my order, although we also paid immediately via PayPal. I have since e-mailed three times to try and get a tracking number, but my e-mails are being ignored.

Now I see she has sold the company, which probably means my money is lost.

AGAIN...DOESNT HAVE HER FACTS STRAIGHT!

In response to the rebuttal again....I reiterate, our paypal acct IS NOT ON HOLD IN ANY WAY WHATSOEVER!It was Still open for business with a very working PAYPAL ACCT. until I sold the business just this Jan. 2009! I have never advised anywhere at anytime that we were located in SAVANAH GEORGIA and would like to see where this was stated? It was never advised by us at any rate. I have never even been in the state of Georgia.
But, would like to annouce here right now that my business HAS BEEN SOLD. I AM NOT THE OWNER OF BOOTLEGGERS BLUFF ANYMORE. Because of my illness of empheysema, I have sold our business on Jan. 2nd 2009 and it is completely under
NEW OWNERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT. My doctor adv. me that the sawdust and vapors from the paint, varnish and stain was worsening my symptoms of empheysema and suggested that I stay away from those things. Please do not hold this persons ill advised complaint which has untruths in it, keep you from patronizing the NEW OWNER OF BOOTLEGGERS BLUFF.

This is in response to the Bootlegger's Bluff rebuttal. First and foremost, I found her website through a Primitives Directory on line, she was listed as being located in Savannah, GA. We know now that this is not the case. To be more specific let me add the following information. When placing the original complaint here on RIPOFF.com, I was istructed to come up with a "catchy title"--this is when I came up with "Here's your sign." It's appropriate considering this is the kind of business that Bootlegger's Bluff is. Once again (like so many times before) the owner does not understand what she has read-if at all.

I placed 3 orders with this woman in the span of 1 month. I went on her website, saw some things that I wanted to give as gifts and some things for my home for Halloween. She states on her website that in some case it can take some time for these items to be sent out. In addition to this she continued to post updates on her website regarding her daughter's illness and offering apologies to her customers for not processing orders quicker. She also stated that all orders that were placed in September were shipped. This did not apply to me. She also went as far as telling the customers that inside their shipments they will find a coupon for 10% on their next order. Again this did not apply to me.
As originally stated I contacted this woman over & over again and all she offered me were excuses and lies!!!!! Just for the record, she still owes me money-there is still a hold on her PayPal account and as soon as she can come up with the $22.00 and some odd change she can go back to being the stellar business woman she thinks she is!!!

#2 REBUTTAL Owner of company

NOT EVEN RIGHT STATE?

AUTHOR: Bootleggers Bluff - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, December 20, 2008

This filed report is not accurate.

Number one, I am not in Georgia? Number two, We arent called Here's Your Sign. I have doubts that this is even about my business? This doesnt fit my location or store name, but it is coming up directly on any searches for my business.

Her statements cannot be true, all know that Paypal "does not" freeze bank accounts, the bank or legal authority would have to do this.

I dont have a customer that ordered these "custom" signs as she has stated. I sell custom signs, but no one has ordered them in the month long sucession that she speaks of. I cant see anyone ordering signs and then after such a long wait, continue to order and pay for more custom signs with out at least rec'ing some product? She states that she ordered signs for a one to two month timeframe?

I have a very working paypal account or I couldnt even stay in business and if you have claims against your paypal account and dont "settle" those claims as she states, my paypal account would be closed and all can place an order on our website and see that it goes completely through paypal.

This has to be an erroneous report or someone that has completely misstated her experience with our company because this does not match any of my records or is my paypal account shut down. We are very open for business using paypal as our only payment method.

POSTED: Tuesday, December 09, 2008

AMEN!!!! The nightmare came to a screaming halt today!!!! The owner of Bootleggers Bluff finally paid all the money she owed. Back & forth for weeks on end. E-mailing me calling me names like "dumb" and "mental case" etc....a real treat dealing with such an individual. I digress to my original argument which was if this matter pertained to one order that I had placed with her, I could comprehend this and I would have put an end to the matter right then and there.

This was 3 different orders involving 3 different payments....WOW!!!! There's a pattern there. I will add one more finding (general observation) I have done much of my Christmas Shopping on-line this year and paid thru PayPal and what I have noticed is that there are many sellers who actually DO NOT charge your credit card until the items have actually shipped out and they provide an actual tracking number. When I saw this I thought "Now this is a decent way to do business and give the buyer a sense that the Seller is not profiting until the consumer's needs are met." It's impressive given this latest experience I had. In the end, which took approximately 90 days come this Thursday 12/11/08, I have received all of my money back from Bootlegger's Bluff, a Phony tracking number and about 50 Nasty e-mails. MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ME!!!!!!
