Boston Proper Refused to honor advertised promotions and were very rude and misleading. Boca Raton FL
Boston Proper had a promotional for 40% off Clearance and $20 off any and all merchandise at least value at $20 plus $5 Flat Rate Shipping no matter how many items! They honored the order for me and I only had to pay $10 for a sundress and it has a stain on it and would not come close to their advertise sale prices of of $69 but I do not want to send it back for it would cost too much. Once I told my fiance and asked him to order something for me is when the really bad problem started. In the beginning he tried to place an order and it would not they completely refused to acknowledge that there was ever a promotion and that he could not get any "deals". He tried to speak with them on their Live Chat but they said they could not do any special pricing that he would need to telephone yet the phone call said there are no deals. He sent an email to their customer service and they said that they would honor their promotion and to please place the order online and let them know to refer to the email, which had a number attached for complaints. He made another attempt to make the purchases and they said that the 40 % off sale was over but they would give him $20 OFF as a courtesy; however, once again he told them and showed them that everyone and anyone can get $20 OFF still and it was no help but they still refused to give him the 40% off. Again, he emailed them and told them this and gave them the two items he wished to purchased and asked them to make the order if they wished to honor their promotion. Customer service once again sent a reply stating that they would honor the original price and of course the $20 off and he just assumed he would pay the full price for shipping which was fine and again he did as they asked. He tried again to make the purchase and ask for assistance with Live Chat and this time they would not communicate with him and said they could not do anything to asisst him and he would need to phone them and they disconnected! He phone them and the operator stated she would honor the email and give him what they said they would originally.... so he placed the order. When it came time to pay she said she could not honor the 40% and the $20 OFF and the $5 Flat shipping. He told her that he was willing to pay full shipping but he still wanted was was stated in the email for the rest and they said no they would only do one or the other. He said that he was not going to order and he asked her for her name and/or employee ID number so he could send in a complaint. She said for him not to yell at her and disconnected. My fiance does not "yell" at no one yet I probably would have had spoken in a higher octave at this point, he did not.
It is obvious they were not going to honor their offer. They wanted to draw customers but did not want to lose profit on even their clearance which was over priced summer clothing that they were selling in the Fall. This is not only bad business practice but it is also false advertisement. They refer to how good their customer service is but after this experience, I truly do not understand how they can state this for there was not one person who has treated him with any respect nor had anyone wanted to try and help him. They would over and over state one thing and yet do the opposite.
Now that my dress is in, I know now that it was not worth any of what he has gone through and I do not wish for anyone to be mistreated as poorly as he has been.
