If shopping for
a car at Brad Benson could be likened to anything water boarding would be that
thing. Sadly I did my due diligence on car buying after I got home but Brad Benson played it perfectly and employed every sales trick and we fell for
them all. Sliding numbers back and forth, talking about personal issues, switching sales persons.
We've heard very
good things from Hyundai owners and when the body shape changed for the Sonata
we became more interested and decided to come to Brad Benson. We were
even joking how, since we have always been die-hard Giants fans how great it
would be to get a fantastic deal with your company.
the long drive to South Brunswick from Queens I called several times to find
out if Brad Benson Hyundai had a stock of 2012 Sonatas. The answer each time
was a resounding yes. With that said I took a hard-earned day off only to
find out when I arrived that you only had a few top of the line models and no
other 2012's in stock. So then our sales person tried to sell us every
other car on the lot. After a very long 5 hours of trying to make some
kind of deal on 2013 Sonata (not the desired 2012) the prices were just too
high. We decided to leave when we were broached with the idea of leasing. Against all better judgment we did just
that perhaps because we were somewhat beat down. Never in my wildest
imagination, after hearing the barrage of ads on Z100 would I think this would
have been my experience with the big Brad Benson would be this one. Needless to say that disappointed is a
huge understatement and hearing your commercials now is a sad reminder.
After making the
wrong decision to lease our write-up took nowhere close to 30 minutes, more
like 90. Sadly the free service we received isnt of any use since we
live 60 miles away.
In hindsight it
was comical. Sure take 30% off,
off what? Not the sticker price or
the online price but that other price on the window next to the sticker which
happens to be exactly 30% higher than the sticker price. Hmm, how convenient. We especially laugh at being asking us
to write down our price, sliding it across the table, having our salesman
walk away and come back asking us to give another number since our first was
The car wasnt
even inspected and paperwork that needed to be faxed to our insurance company
took days to get done with an attitude when we called to ask why? With that all said once the deal was
made all further contact was curt, insincere and rude and coincidentally we never received the survey that everyone receives.
