I was hired as a tutor for Brainfuse 3 months ago. Once you are hired, they make you go through a 3-hr training session, and you do not get paid for it. But, they tell you that if you want to 'stay hired and get paid' that you are required to do this training. I did the training and it was a total joke. I could have figured it all out by myself. The company sets you up with students at times when you are available to tutor, so you have no control over specifics. If you happen to be scheduled for a time when you cannot be there, you have to sub-out the session to another tutor. Consequently, all the tutors end up getting thousands of emails in their inbox for subbed-out sessions. I have been waiting for months to be scheduled with students and when they finally did, they are two students that both have already had issues with Brainfuse. You get to deal with lovely high school kids who flirt, etc... they tell you to call their 'emergency number' when something like this happens. But it's not really an emergncy number for tutors; it's their regular number and then you end up having to leave a voice mail for someone.
I have contacted brainfuse many times about many 'problems' technical and otherwise, and nothing ever gets resolved. I don't know if they really have anyone working at that company besides their technical support people because they are the only ones who ever answer the phone. Just don't bother working for this company, it's only $10/ hr anyways and if you are a certified teacher like me, you have to jump through all kinds fo hoops to get more than that. It's just a ridiculous waste of time and energy.
