Because of his behavior he lost alot of business and is now doing horribly. Well finally why I am reporting him is because he listened to the other workers in the store, who by the way are "new" employees compared to me, on something that was absolutely explainable. I worked on sundays from 3-9pm and last sunday i had gone accross the street to the store to get something to drink and when i returned a customer had come into the store and left a note saying "call me" with the phone number. I called the customer and he stated he was in a hurry and he would come back tomorrow, the next day after work and pay for his order. He took his order of clothes but he was a reg customer and i trusted him.
Now to paint a picture, this is a laundromat with no heat in the winter, which by the way the past few weeks have been below 20 degrees here in NY, and no A/c in the summer. He doesnt give us any breaks on any given shift 7-8hr shift because there is only 1 of us working at any given time. If we have to leave to go to the store, which sometimes we have to go to the store to get supplies for the store because he doesnt give us access to that, I guess he thinks we're going to steal the stuff, who knows?, we have to lock the register and leave (which I did) as always.
I returned on friday to get my paycheck and he then proceeded to ask me what happened and i told him i was at the store. he said "you didnt lock the front door". "NO i didnt because there was customers in the store doing their own washes', i said. He said "give me ur key i dont want u working here anymore", without my side of the story! After being a dedicated employee i think it was wrong of him.
He pays his employees less than minimum wage and pays some of them off the books. He gets letters to the store from the town for not paying or renewing his registration for the store or the permits needed to run the business. He runs the store with heath hazards like moldy items in the bathroom and water leaks from the machines. There is also no heat in the store which is illegal in NY state and sometimes it is so cold in there that you can see your breath from the cold. Regarding the customers, he is never on there sides especially when it comes to reinbursing or money. If something doesnt work or they get cheated he does not reinburse them in anyway! He is a ripoff!
I would like to go about reporting him in all the ways possible and getting him shut down! If anyone has any suggestions or comments on what i should do or how i can go about it I would appreciate it.
