Budget Brothers Termite and Pest Dishonest business practice, technician asked me to sign a quote, confirmed it was a quote, then turned it into a contract for $1600. Three witnesses verified technician stated this is "just a quote" Phoenix, Arizona

Was looking to have my house treated for termites when I came across some reviews of Budget Brothers Pest Control. This is old but still worth reporting. I was in the process of selling two apartment buildings in central Phoenix back in 2005 when I was obtaining quotes to have the buildings treated for termites as a condition of sale. I had two quotes and thought I would get a couple of more. Budget Brothers was one of them. The technician came out, did the inspection and approached me when I was talking with the buyer, his realtor and a building inspector. He asked me to sign the quote, I asked him to confirm that this was just a quote and I was not agreeing for Budget Brothers to do the job, he confirmed that it was just a quote and needed my signature so he could show his boss he did the inspection. All three witnesses heard him say this. About three days later, I stopped by the property to meet another termite inspector and discovered someone had just treated the buildings. I called the three company's that gave me quotes and Budget Brothers confirmed they treated the building. I was very angry and spoke to, I believe the owner or one of the managers. He could not confirm if he had a contract or just a quote. The next day, I received a call from the title company, apparently they called them and demanding payment because this was in escrow. Unfortunately, this was a long process to sell these buildings and this was holding up the sale. The treatment needed to be done, Budget Brothers was the 2nd highest of the 4 quotes but I was not going to drag this out for a few hundred dollars. But, what comes around goes around, this was extremely dishonest and shady. All three witnesses offered to give testimony on my behalf if I wanted to take them to court. Do yourself a favor, do not do business with these guys!!!
