Budget Car Rental RIPOFFS!! Nashua, New Hampshire

Budget Car Rental on East Hollis St in Nashua has quite a scamming business going. My first time use of them was when I had to rent a truck to empty out my deceased parent's home. Mike (Manager) was so nice and charming on the phone. He told me that he could give me a better deal than if I ordered it online and quoted me a price, unlimited mileage, etc.

When I went to pick up the truck it was a piece of crap......and how convenient for them.......it was the only one they had left on their lot so I didn't have much of a choice and they knew it. I had a deadline. We looked at the gas gauge and Mike's "assistant" told us it was full, we told her it was under full and we will return it with the same amount of gas. The rear door was harder than hell to open and close, truck sounded like it was on it's last leg but we had no choice.

At the end of the day, we put gas in it to where it was when we got it and brought the piece of crap back. This place went ahead and charged my credit card over $100 above his estimated price because he stated he had to put more gas in the piece of crap truck up!!! Of course you can't argue with an idiot so I didn't get far with Mr. Mike so I called the Budget headquarters who stated each Budget is owned and operated separately so they couldn't help me. It's their name and they obviously don't care about their reputation so neither do I!!

My philosophy is such: Shame on you the first time, Shame on me the second time......

However, I received a call (Dec. 31, 2012) from a dear friend who doesn't reside in Nashua but needed a moving truck ASAP. A closing had been scheduled on her family members home that morning but the family member didn't move anything out. The closest moving truck company was Budget (right down the street 1/2 mile from the home) so against my better judgement, but against a very tight time frame, gave them a call.

Again, Mike was a sweet as pie on the phone, he "had a deal for me" and a truck ready and waiting to go!! Went in, got the keys, checked the gas gauge, blah, blah blah only to find they hadn't even cleaned off the truck!!! The hood, windshield, etc was covered with snow. They wouldn't even clean it off for our use. Without having anything to clean it off with we had to leave the truck running until it thawed. So, one trip up the street 1/2 mile away, load the truck and then an additional 5 miles to and from the storage unit , couple bucks of gas and back to Budget. Do you know these thieves charged my credit card an additional $50 because they stated they had to put in 3 gals of gas!!!!
Tried talking to Mike but he got extremely defensive and called me a liar!! This time I won't waste time with the Corporate Office of Budget but I'm going directly to the NH Atty Generals Office.

How many other innocent people have they been doing this to???? No wonder Mike's been in business for 25yrs. He's a crook!!!
