Dispatchers like to jerk people around when calling for pick ups.
Cabs are generally dirty and overpriced. Despite that they somehow have the market cornered having both Amtrak and Buffalo Airport contracts. That tells me that Buffalo was never ready for the prime time making it impossible and a bad idea to do business there for reasons just like this.
Cab drivers like to get lost wanting to ensare you in various side ventures, send you to other hotels you are not booked at likely since they get kickbacks, etc. All in all not a good ride.
You have limited other choices in Buffalo and there is about one other good pick, find it and use them. Beyond that don't go to Buffalo.
