All Build My Move did was hire a cheap local mover. We later learned the driver of the moving van did not have a Commercial Driver's license as is stated on the Build My Move website. The driver did not even have a valid state driver's license. Within a few miles of our old house, the driver ROLLED the moving truck and received a reckless driving ticket. It was a single vehicle accident and both the driver and the other worker were taken to the hospital. The accident report reads the driver did not have his eyes on the road. How could Build My Move have been so negligent in hiring this company?

Build My Move states they "require" their movers to shrink wrap all your furniture. None of it was wrapped and when the truck crashed, most of our furniture was damaged. Several of our possessions were missing when the movers finally showed up 2 days later in a different, old moving van. After the original moving van was towed to a wrecking yard, they moved all our possessions from the wrecked truck to an old UHaul. Boxes were crushed, furniture smashed, items MISSING (2 TV's, a baker's rack, 3 floor lamps, etc.). We found out these items were so damaged, they just got thrown out at the wrecking yard. Build My Move acted like they had no idea what I was talking about. We have copies of the Police Accident Report and would be happy to share details and pictures to confirm the problems we have had with this company.

They state their movers will take pictures of the move, before, during and after, so you can watch your move. We never saw or received one picture of our move. Although, we personally took many, many pictures, especially of our damaged items, nothing was provided by Build My Move.

We finally settled with our private homeowners insurance company as I was sick of dealing with all the lies and deceit from Build My Move. Do not use them. Hire your own local moving company and do your homework. Build My Move stated they had an "A" rating with the Better Business Bureau. After the move, I looked them up and they only had a "B" rating. I have never been so upset, having to unpack and repack boxes to find what was broken, damaged and/or missing. It took a couple weeks and was exhausting.
