Still after approx. three (3) years after my reporting them to the B.B.B. they continue to use the slogan in thier advertising. I had always eaten my whooper extra mayoniase cut in half almost all my life till this change in thier practice. I have stopped eating thier because of thier response and lack of action. They should stop using the slogan if thier not going to let the customer have it thier way.

POSTED: Monday, May 25, 2009You are a grown man, and you've been complaining for 3 years that a fast food joint refused to cut up your food for you as though you were a 2-year-old? Really? If I had it my way, everything would be free. Should I alert the BBB? This is just SAD. Whoppers with extra mayonnaise cause heart attacks and obesity, anyway. Go get upset about a real problem. Jeez.

Not BKC Issue, Insurance Liability and Federal Child Labor law issue.

POSTED: Tuesday, April 14, 2009I'm sure you know that a majority of the fast food workforce, especially nights and weekends are comprised of minors, kids that are out of school. The two reasons the policy was put into place 5 years ago when I was GM was that there were prohibitions at the federal, state and local level that varied in the degree that a minor could perform certain tasks. Minor's are not permitted to operate even a tomato slicer, they are not even allowed to wash it among other things as well as the use of the knife that is standard equipment. It's not like a kitchen knife that will take some force to cut thru a sandwich and break the skin, when the knifes are new they can cut thru a hand down to the bone, I've seen it done.
With the rising cost of workers compensation insurance and the liability of such accidents, not to mention the federal, state and local municipalities that are becoming ever stricter on what a Minor can and cannot do, the 'system' had to incorporate a far reaching policy across a national brand to address all those concerns.
Unfortunately, needing minors to fully staff a fast food restaurant are an unavoidable fact of doing business and keeping it financially stable, and as such we have to adapt policies that allow the stores to be as consistent as possible from one to the next. Unfortunately there were nights where every other employee in the store was a minor, do you then want to inconvenience every other customer in the restaurant cause you cant cut your own sandwich in half that the one adult who's trying to run the operation and keep your food moving has to stop the wheel to wash up, glove up, cut your sandwich, wash up again, then back to pushing that one sandwich out?
Please do yourself and everyone else waiting a favor and take 15 seconds of your time to cut your own $2 burger in half and consider the legal and logistical reasons why they could no longer honor that request.

POSTED: Friday, November 21, 2008If your biggest issue in life is that they won't cut your Whopper in half then consider yourself very lucky. There are millions of people in this world who would be love to have this as a worry rather than trying to just figure out how to survive.
There is no RipOff here.
