MY DAUGHTER WENT TO CARMAX IN CLEARWATER FLORIDA TO PURCHASE A CAR.  SHE TRADED HER 2006 HONDA CIVIC WHICH THEY GAVE HER 5000.00 FOR.  THE CAR HAD NO PROBLEMS JUST HAD IT 51/2 YEARS AND WANTED SOMETHING DIFFERENT,  SHE WAS DEALING WITH A SALES REP NAMED DANNY.  SHE TOLD HIM SHE WAS INTERESTED AT FIRST IN A BLACK NISSAN.  DANNY HOLD HER HE WOULD HOLD THE CAR WHILE MY DAUGHTER GOT HER PAYCHECK THAT SHOWED 40 HOURS. 

MY DAUGHTER EXPLAINED SHE WOULDNT HAVE THAT FOR ANOTHER 4 DAYS HE SAID NO PROBLEM I HAVE WAYS TO HOLD THE CAR.  MY DAUGHTER KEEP TOUCHING BASE WITH HIM WHIKE THEY WAITED THE 4 DAYS.  WELL ON THE DAY SHE HAD HER PAYCHECK STUB WE WENT TO CARMAX AND DANNY INFORMED HER THAT HE COUKDNT HOLD CAR AND IT WAS SOLD.  HE AND HIS MANAGER CHARLIE TOLD MY DAUGHTER THEY WOULD FIND HER ANOTHER CAR.  SHE SAW CARMAX WEBSITE A 2009 BLACK VW JETTA THAT WAS AT ANOTHER LOCATION THAT THEY HAD BROUGHT TO THEIR STORE. 

SALES REP DANNY CALLED MY DAUGHTER MICHELLE AND TOLD HER THE CAR CAME IN AND IT WAS A BEAUTY. MY DAUGHTER EXPLAINED SHE WORKED UNTIL 6 HE SAID NO PROBLEM HE WOULD WAIT FOR HER TO GET THERE WHICH WOULD TAKE   1 HOUR CAUSE WE LIVE IN LITHIA FLORIDA.  WE GOT THERE ABOUT 7:35.  THE SALES REP DANNY IMMEDIATELY GREETED US AT THE DOOR AND HURRIED US INTO HIS OFFICE AND ASKED FOR PROOF OF INCOME AND HER DRIVERS LICENSE AND THEN HAD LOAN PAPERWORK HE WANTED HER TO SIGN SHE TOLD HIM SHE WANTED TO SEE THE CAR FIRST HE SAID OH THEY ARE CLEANING IT UP DONT WORRY ITS GOOD. 

THEN HE WANTED HER TO CALL HER INSURANCE COMPANY TO ADD TO HER INSURANCE SHE SDAID NO I WANT TO SEE THE CAR AND TEST DRIVE IT BEOFRE I CALL MY CAR INSURANCE COMPANY,  HE THE TOLD HER DONT WORRY YOU HAVE 5 DAYS TO RETURN IT IF YOU DONT LIKE IT OR IF SOMETHING IS WRONG.  MY DAUGHTER SAID NO.  SO THEY WENT OUT AND SHE TEST DROVE THE CAR.  AROUND THE BLOCK.  THE CAR HAD ISSUE WITH MARKS ON THE CAR AND SALES REP DANNY TOLD HER NOT TO WORRY HE GAVE HER A PAPER WITH HIS NAME ON IT AND SIGNED BY HIS MANAGER THAT THE DENTS NEEDED TO BE BUFFED OUT. 

NEEDLESS TO SAY SHE TOOK THE CAR HONE THAT NIGHT.  THE NWXT DAY AFTER DRIVING THE CAR HOME AND TO WORK SHE NOTICED THE BRAKES WERE LOW AND DIDNT STOP WELL ALSO WHEN SHE STARTED VECHILE UP HE WOULD JUMP INTO GEER AND THERE WAS A NOISE COMING FROM THE CAR.  SHE IMMEDIATELY CAR SALES REP DANNY WHO INFORMED HER HE WOULD SPEAKK TO MANTIANCE DEPARTMENT AND THEY WOULD CALL TO HAVE HER BRING THE CAR IN.   WELL MY DAUGHTER WAITED 1 WEEK AND NO CALL I TOLD HER YOU BETTER CALL THEM. 

MY DAUGHTER CALLED AND THAT DEPARTMENT INFORMED HER THAT SHE WAS SUPPOSE TO CALL THEM SHE EXPLAINED TO THEM THAT DANNY THE SALES REP TOLD HER HE GVE THE INFORMATION TO THEM AND THEY WOULD CALL HER.  LONG STORY SHORT MADE APPOINTMENT FOR NEXT DAY TO BRING HER IN,. BROUGHT THE CAR IN AT THIS TIME THE HEADLIGHT WENT OUT THERE WAS A WRENCH LIGHT LITE ON DASHBOARD AND THE AUX JACK WASNT WORKING AND ALONG WITH THE ORIGINAL PROBLEMS. 

THEY TOOK CAR DOR TEST DRIVE AND TOLD US THEY NEEDED TO KEEP THE CAR TO CHECK IT OUT FURTHER.  THEY DID GIVE AUS A LOANER CAR ONLY THING THEY EVER DID RIGHT.  WELL THEY HAD MY VW JETTA FOR 1 WEEK. THEY CALLED ME THE 2N DAY AND TOLD ME THEY HAD TO PUT BRAKES AND PADS AND FIKE THE ROTORS.  THEY WERE SENDINBG THE CAR OVER TO VW TO CHECK THE TRANSMISSION AND THE AUX JACK AND WHEN THEY GET IT BACK THEY WOULD CALL, ON THE 3 RD DAY THEY CALLED TO TELL ME THAT THEY GOT THE WRONG PARTS TO DO THE BRAKE WORK BUT ONCE THEY GOT THE RIGHT ONES THEY WOULD DOO THE BRAKE WORK AND THEN SEND IT OVER TO VM. 

WELL ON THE 4 DAY THE CAR WENT OVER TO VW.  ON FIRDAY THE 5 DAY THEY CALLED AND SAID VW STILL HAD THE CAR AND WOULDNT HAVE IT BACK TILL MONDAY.  SO ON MONDAY I GOT A CALL TO PICK CAR UP.  I ASKED WHAT WAS WRONG THEY SAID VW HEARD THE NOISE ALSO BUT COULDNT TELL WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THE TRANSMISSION AND TO KEEP DRIVING THE CAR AND WHEN IT GOT WORSE BRING IT BACK AND THEN THEY WOULD BE ABLE TO PINPOINT THE TRANSMISSION PROLBEM THE PAINT WAS NOT BUFFED.

WHEN ASKED THEY SAID THERE WAS NOTHING THEY COULD DO ABOUT IT,  WHEN I TOLD THEM I HAD A PAPER SIGNED BY ALES REP AND HIS MANAGER THAT THAT WOULD BE DONE THEY SAID WELL IT CANT I SAID WELL I WOULD HAVE NEVER TOOK THE CAR IF I KNEW THAT.  ALSO THE BRAKES WERE STILL LOW.  THEY DECIDED TO TAKE THE CAR BACK AND GET ME ANOTER ONE.  WELL THEY HAD A WHITE VW JETTA 2009 SHIPPED TO THEM.  I WENT AND THAT CAR HAD THE SAME ISSUES IT NEEDED BRAKES SO THEN THEY SAID TO ME WHY DONT YOU PICK A DIFFERENT CAR MAKE AND MODEL MAYBE THE JETTAS THAT YEAR ARE NOT GOOD. 

SO BEING I HAD MY HONDA THAT I TRADED AND NEVER HAD AN ISSUE I SAID OKAY DO YOU HAVE ANY HONDAS HERE ON THE LOT AND A NEW SALES REP AT THIS POINT WAS DEALING US HES NAME WAS ADAM. SO WE WENT OUTSIDE AND SAW A HONDA ACCORD WITH THE STICKER IN THE WINDOW THAR SAID 2010 HONDA ACCORD 21,889.00 SO I TOLD HIM I WOULD THINK ABOUT IT AND GET BACK TO HIM.  WELL CALLED THE NEXT DAY TOLD HIM I WAS INTERESTED BUT I WANTED TO MAKE SURE THE CAR WAS CHECKED AND SERVICED AND THERE WAS NO ISSUES WITH IT MECHANICALLY. 

SALES REP ADAM CALLED ME AND TOLD ME THAT THE CAR WAS GOOD MADE ARRAGEMETS TO GO ONCE AGAIN AFTER WORK.  GOT THERE AROUND 7:40PM. WALKED INTO CARMAX THIS TIME ADAM GREETED ME AND TOLD ME THE CAR WAS IN THE FRONT GAVE ME THE KEYS AND TOLD ME HE WOUKLD BE RIGHT OUT WITH A PKATE SO I COULD TEST DRIVE IT.  WELL I WENT WITH HIM AND I DROVE THE CAR WHEN WE GOT BACK TO THE LOT MY MOM SAID SHE NOTICE SOMETHING HANGING UNDERNEATHE THE FRONT OF THE CAR. 

I TOLD HER I HEARD A STRANGE NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT WHEN I WAS DRIVING.  THE SALES REP ADAM TOUCHED THE THING THAT WAS HANGING BUT COULD NOT TELL WHAT IT WAS  BUT SAID HE DIDNT THINK IT WAS ANYTHING OF CONCERN ASKED IF THEY COUKLD LOOK AT IT ON THE LIFT AND THE SALES REP ADAM SAID NO CAUSE ALL THE MECHANICS LEFT FOR THE DAY.  I EXPRESSED CONCERN OVER IT BEING I HEARD A STRANGE NOISE COMING FROM THE FRONT OF CAR WHEN I WAS TEST DRIVING IT.

 THE SALES REP KEP REASSURING ME THAT THE CAR WAS IN GOOD CONDITION MECHIACALLY.  RTHEN WE WENT INTO HIS OFFICE AND I ASKED HIM IF THE CAR WAS CHECKED OUT AND HE SAID NO THEY COME FROM TAMPA AND WE DONT RECHECK THEM HERE WE ARE A SATELLITE OFFICE.  THEN I ASKED FOR A CARFAX AND IT SHOWED THAT THE CAR WAS IN AN ACCIDENT AND THE FRONT END OF THE CAR WAS INVOLVED.  I FURTHER ASKED WHAT KIND OF DAMAGE HE REPLIED DONT KNOW BUT I DONT THINK IT HAD MAJOR DAMAGE. 

THEN CAME THE PART OF WHY DONT YOU TAKE IT HOME TONIGHT LETS DO THE PAPERWORK AND THEN YOU CAN BRING IT BACK TOMORROW CAUSE YOU HAVE 5 DAYS AND WE WILL CHECK OUT WHATS HANGING IN THE FRONT AND WHERE THE NOISE IS COMING FROM.  WELL WHILE SITTING THERE HE DECIDED TO START PULLING UP THE PAPERWORK ON THE VECHILE FOR THE LOAN STILL DIDNT SIGN ANYTHING.  WELL THE VIN HE PUT IN FOR THE LIAN SHOWED IT WAS A 2008 THE STICKER WITH THE PRICE ON THE VECHIKE SAID 2010 AND ON THERE INVENTORY SHEET IT SHOWED A 2009 THAT IS WHEN I SAID WHY DOES THIS CAR HAVE 3 DIFFERENT YEARS HIS REPLY WAS DONT KNOW. 

HE LEFT HIS OFFICE AND WENT OUTSIDE WITH MY MOM AND SISTER TO HAVE A CIGARETTE.  SALES REP ADAM CAME OUTSIDE WITH THE ORGINIAL SALES REP DANNY AND HAD A PAPER THAT SAID ITS A 2008 FOR 21,898.00.  I SAID NO WAY IM NOT SIGNIBG ANYTHING I WANT MY 5000.00 BACK HE SAID WELL I HAVE NOTHIBG TO DO WITH THAT THAT YOU NEED TO SEE MISTY MELENDEZ IN THE BUSINESS DEPARTMENT.  WENT BACK TO SEE MISTY SHE WAS AWARE OF THE SITUTATION AND SAID SHE WOULD REFUND ME MY 5000.00 DOWN PAYMENT BUT I HAD TO WAIT 4 TO 6 WEEKS FOR CORPORATE OFFICE TO PROCESS. 

I SAID NO WAY YOU BOUGHT MY HONDA 2006 FOR THAT PRICE I WANT A CHECK OR GIVE ME BACK MY HONDA.  SHE SAID OKAY WE WILL GIVE YOU BACK YOYR HONDA.  SHE CALLED TO HAVE HONDA BROUGHT TO CLEARWATER FROM THE TAMPA OFFICE SO I COULD ONCE AGAIN AFTER WORK GO BACK THERE TO PICK IT UP.  SO I THOUGHT EVERYTHING WAS SET.  THEN RIGHT BEFORE IM READY TO LEAVE SONE GUY THAT TRANSPORTS THE CARS SAID IN ORDER FOR ME TO GET MY CAR BACK I NEED TO OAY CARMAX 1800.00. 

HE SAID FOR WORK THEY DID ON IT TO RESALE IT.  I SAID NO WAY THEN I WANT THE 5000.00 FOR IT.  WELL A DRAFT WAS GIVEN TO ME FOR THE 5000.00 DIDNT HAVE A VECHILE TO GET HOME WITH SO I HAD TO CALL SOMEONE TO COME 1 HOUR AWAY TO GET ME.  THIS TIME WAS 10.00PM.  WELL I THOUGHT THE WEB WAS FINALLY OVER AD DEPOSITED THE CHECK AND WENT TO ANOTHER DEALER TO LOOK FOR A CAR.  WELL WHEN THEY RAN MY CREDIT THE LOAN FROM THE CAR THAT I RETURNED TO CARMAX ON MARCH 8 WAS STILL OPENED CARMAX NEVER INFORMED CAPTIAL ONE THAT THE VELICHLE WAS RETURNED. 

SO NOW THE PROCESS OF TRYING TO GET CARMAX TO GET WITH CAPTIAL ONE TO CORRECT THIS so i can get a loan to get a car. Well captial one said they need to receive the money back from carmax and the it would take 30 to 45 days to get off credit.  well after being bounced all around today from captial one to carmax and back again  i find out that several car loans was called in to captial one from carmax for me.  i explained that i dont have any car from carmax and shouldnt have an applications opened. 

BRIAN from capital one told ne they would need to call carmax to verify this and get back to me.  in the meantime cause of what ever carmax did ii can not get financed through anyway cause of the open loan and the severtal loans applications which by tge way the most recent one was submitted yesterday 3/15/2012 it was called in by carmax captial one said no paperwork was sent and i replkied of courswe not because i never applied i feel so violated. 

first i was lied to about the cars preformances then i have loan applications showing upp under my name and social security that carmax is calling in and i dont even have a car thru them.  OH AND BY THE way i now have no car to get back and forth to work cause of all this mess.  everyone should be for warned to stay away from carmax for more reasons than one.  i hope all the carmax workers can go to sleep and night with a clear head cause i sure cant.  thank you carmax for making my life miserable cause of your greed.]

My Experience with CW Carmax

I cannot imagine that story being true.

I have been going to that Carmax in CW for the last 10 years and have bought 10 cars from them.

I always go back there because I have always been treated right.

I never once had a bad experience in any of their departments sales, service or admin.

I've had instances where I changed my mind about 2 cars and returned them to get anotherwithin the 5 days. 

Smooth anf fast transition both times.

I've had one car that needed a major repair and they worked on it for weeks. (Electrical issue with an older Mercedes)

They could not fix it so they completely reversed the entire purchase and got me into another car. 

They kept me updated on everything they tried so I was never left wondering what was going on.

Again smooth and fast transition.

Everytime I left my car for service, they always gave me a loaner.

I don't have any complaints about how they treated me.

I have been treated as a valued customer everytime.

It is why I go back there for cars and will continue to in the future.

I cannot say All Carmax locations give the same service because in my experience they don't.  But CW Carmax is the best Carmax in my many dealings with them.

Number one. This entire thing looks like it is being written by two people. First part seems like it is being written by the mom and the second part by the actual customer. 

Number two. Why was your car at a different Carmax location again? From what I understood you were at the same location the entire time. They don't ship cars to different locations while work is still being done to them to make them salable. 

Number three. You said that Carmax told you it would be 4 to 6 weeks to process a check for the $5000 that they appraised your car for. That right there is completely false. They print you out a bankdraft right then and there every time. You then stated that they ended up printing you a band draft right then and there anyway cause you left with one. At least I think that's what you said you kept rambling and misspelling words so it made it very hard to understand. 

Number four. The way you describe the sales consultants printing the paperwork up in their offices is false as well. No sales consultant has a printer in his office and they don't sign the paperwork with you anyway.

My final thought is this. Everything you have said contradicts what you said before that. I believe this was written by two people or you tried writing from one point of view and forgot who's point of view it was and went back to your point of view. I believe you may have had a small problem with something that happened there but it is no where near what you are trying to make it out to be as several of the things you have said are completely and totally false in every way imaginable. Please rewrite this with a coherent voice and less capital letters. It would probably work out better for you then.
