Signed up for a $6.00 trial on a website through CCBill.com. After checking my bank account, I noticed that it was not $6.00 taken out but $30.00! After emailing customer support, they told me that there was nothing they could do after the transaction had already been made.

Obviously this company uses fraudulent tactics such as this in order to scam extra money out of people. Then when you ask them what's going on it's "Woops. Nothing we can do now. It's your fault not ours".

Look closely at your internet transactions and make sure they are not going through CCBill or you will most likely, sometime down the line, become a victim of these types of "mistakes".

Please stop filing rebuttals. This complaint is over a year old. The charges were indeed made without consent as I had proven to them. The money has been refunded.

So-Called "Illegal" Charges

AUTHOR: Partick - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, June 18, 2007

When you subscribe to the website, before you click on the button "complete this purchase," make sure all the information is correct. One thing to definitely look out for is the drop down menus with the billing options. Make sure that once you select it, that it isn't still highlighted. This tends to be a big problem.

You should have received a confirmation email within minutes of completing the purchase. That confirmation email includes the billing option chosen. If you wanted to access the site, you would have had to look at that to make sure you have the correct username and password. The email displays the billing option above the login info.

After realizing the mistake, you could have contacted CCBill and I'm sure they would have realized the mistake made on your part as well and kindly reverse the charge or void the transaction.

FYI
There will only be a "hold" amount placed on the account if its a free trial, only to ensure that there are funds available in the account as well as it being active.

Hold

AUTHOR: Dena - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, April 28, 2007

The amount you see on your bank statement is for a hold of that amount in case you over go your trial. However, if you cancel within the alotted time, you sould be charged just the $6.00.

Have you tried contacting the web site where you signed up?

AUTHOR: Robert - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Monday, April 24, 2006

If I understand correctly, ccbill is simply an internet payment processor, ccbill does not own or operate the web site you tried to subscribe to. As far as ccbill would be concerned the mistake is either yours or the web sites.

Perhaps if you were to contact the web site you were trying to get the trial subscription from they could refund your money.

Good luck.

You don't understand

AUTHOR: Stephen - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, April 22, 2006

Nunya, I don't think you quite understand.
The instant I signed up for the trial, the charge of $30 was made. CCBill treated it as a full subscription and not a trial. That's where the ripoff was made. I understand completely about the fine print thing. I actually canceled rebilling after signing up.

CCBill just decided they weren't going to give me a trial, they were going to force a full subscription on me.

Read the "fine print"

AUTHOR: Nunya - (U.S.A.)

POSTED: Saturday, April 22, 2006

When you sign up for a trial through almost any website, you usually have to cancel the trial before the end of said trial OR it will convert to a full membership and you will have your account billed as a full membership.
By the way, what was the trial that you signed up for?
