CCI Camera - Royal Camera ripoff Brooklyn New York

We purchased a Canon EOS digital Rebel XT from CCI Camera City around March 28, 2006. On March 29 "Max" called to "confirm" our order. Even though we had already recieved a confirmation e-mail from them.

While on the phone with "Max" he tried very hard to push us into purchasing items that we did not need or want. "Max" was told repeatedly that the ONLY thing we wanted was the camera that had been ordered.

About 2 days later we found out that our original order had been canceled. We figured we were done with this company and planned to move on. Imagine our surprise when we found a $229.99 charge from CCI camera a week later.

They decided on their own to charge for and send a useless memory card (approx. value $25.00) . When we realized this we called their 800 number only to be told that we had to call the toll number for this issue.

So we call the toll number only to be treated like we were trying to rip him off like he had done to us. He did offer to give a discount of $100.00. But again we told him we never ordered this item to begin with and only wanted a return authorization number and our money back. He then offered to take $125.00 and again we said no. He finally gave an auth number.

We sent the item back with a USPS delivery confirmation so we would know exactely when they recieved it. After verifying they had recieved it we again called CCI and were told that they had recieved it and we would have a full refund no later than Wednesday April 12, 2006. Of course this refund did not happen and now nobody answers any of the 15 or so telephone numbers you can find for them. It's almost like they have dropped off the face of the earth.

We have filed a fraud claim with the card that was used. In addition a complaint has been sent to New Yorks Better Business Bureau. Additional complaints will be filed soon with other agency's.

It is my current goal to ensure that no one else gets ripped off by these thieves!!!!
