CCS, First National Merchant Credit Card Mail Scam, False Credit Offer Ripoff Las Vegas Nevada

I received an urgent-approved offer for a merchant card with a credit line of $6500. Upon reading it, I discovered that "If you don't want to keep your new cards active, just call our benefits and card services department (or activation department to reach them) and have your approval letter with you before your free activation period ends and whether you have your cards or not, we'll cancel them and charge you nothing."

After maneuvering through the automated menu on the activation line, I told the operator that I was not interested & wanted to cancel my card. He gave me 1-888-884-0017 to call, and then I was disconnected. However, when I tried calling, I received an automated voice telling me that the subscriber at that number could not be reached.
