Usually Certegy will make 2 attempts to put a check through which if it does not clear the 2nd time around they will send out a letter asking for payment to be sent in and usually once that payment is received all negative information is removed from Certegy files and check privliges are restored with Certegy merchants only!!!!
You may contact Certegy collections at 800 237 8764 and find out first if the check is still with Certegy or if if has been turned over to another agency for collection. If Certegy still has the check let them know what happened and you'd like to take care of this problem could they please assist, you'll find they are more than willing to help you resolve this issue.
#2 Consumer Suggestion
Bank should pay any bounced check fees

Alot of banks do electronic transfers and can have money pulled from you account the day they get it. The days of a check not clearing for 5 days to a week are coming to an end.
Of course this benefits the bank more than you since they still put a hold on funds til the check clears.
Check with your bank and see if they can absorb some of the fees since they had system problems.
Thanks,
