DIRECT DEPOSIT DID NOT HIT BANK DUE TO BANK SYSTEM PROBLEMS. sEVERAL CHECKS BOUNCED WITHIN THIS TIME PERIOD. CPR RE RAN ALL CHECKS THROUGH EXCEPT 1, ALL WERE PAID EXCEPT THAT 1. ONLY CPR DID NOT INFORM ME THAT THIS ONE WAS NOT PAID. THEREFORE I WAS UNAWARE THAT I STILL HAD AN OUTSTANDING BOUNCED CHECK. THIS HAS CAUSED MY NAME TO BE LISTED WITH TELECHECK BUT WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE. AFTER I BECAME AWARE OF THE PROBLEM I MADE SEVERAL ATTEMPTS TO HAVE THEM RERUN THE CHECK FOR PAYMENT. IT IS STILL NOT PAID AND I STILL HAVE LIMITED CHECK WRITING PRIVELEDGES (CAUSING EXTREME EMBARASSMENT IN SOME CIRCUMSTANCES). EVERY EFFORT TO RESOLVE THIS CHECK ISSUE HAS BEEN IGNORED MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO CLEAR MY NAME ON TELECHECK AND RESTORE MY GOOD CREDIBILITY.

#1 UPDATE Employee

Telechek in Tuscaloosa

AUTHOR: Hellinas - (U.S.A.)

Certegy and Telechek are 2 totally different companies operating under different policies and ownership and each does not have access to the others files nor does Certegy report to Telechek or Telecheck to Certegy.

Usually Certegy will make 2 attempts to put a check through which if it does not clear the 2nd time around they will send out a letter asking for payment to be sent in and usually once that payment is received all negative information is removed from Certegy files and check privliges are restored with Certegy merchants only!!!!

You may contact Certegy collections at 800 237 8764 and find out first if the check is still with Certegy or if if has been turned over to another agency for collection. If Certegy still has the check let them know what happened and you'd like to take care of this problem could they please assist, you'll find they are more than willing to help you resolve this issue.

#2 Consumer Suggestion

Bank should pay any bounced check fees

AUTHOR: Steven - (U.S.A.)

You should not write checks until you have the money in the account to cover them. You are setting yourself up for big problems by writing checks anticipating that they will not be cashed until after your direct deposit goes thru.

Alot of banks do electronic transfers and can have money pulled from you account the day they get it. The days of a check not clearing for 5 days to a week are coming to an end.

Of course this benefits the bank more than you since they still put a hold on funds til the check clears.

Check with your bank and see if they can absorb some of the fees since they had system problems.

Thanks,

Steve R.

#3 Consumer Suggestion

They do re-run checks

AUTHOR: Confused In Kansas - (U.S.A.)

Not only does Certegy re-run checks repeatedly, but they will also try to aotomatically debit your account repeatedly. I just received a letter from them on the 27th and it was dated for the 20th but they tried to debit my account on the 24th and then now again on the 31st of this month.

I didn't even make the mistake, it was the company I work for and I am having these issues now.

Certegy does NOT re-run checks

AUTHOR: Vicki - (U.S.A.)

Hi Donna thanks for your comment. I do have to disagree though. Certegy does NOT re-run checks. The company where YOU wrote the checks re-runs them.

#5 Consumer Comment

Certegy does re-submit checks

AUTHOR: Donna - (U.S.A.)

The ex-employee who only worked at Certegy for 4 months stated that they do not run checks again. Yes, they do. They submitted my checks a second time, after I had mailed in a Certified Check, and my bank account was in shambles.

I Think this Is What You Should Do

AUTHOR: Vicki - (U.S.A.)

I worked at this SAME certegy office for four months. I think this is what you should do. Even though you didn't mention it but I think you wrote a check at Wal-mart right? here is what you need to do. Certegy as far as I know can't re-run your check. Go back to the Walmart where you wrote the check and pay the check off plus the bounced check fee in cash, as far as I remember money orders and checks are not accepted. You can go to a Walmart to do a payment but it will be a $5.00 fee extra. Wal-mart then should give you your check back as your receipt. When you are there ask them to go ahead and send the Payment to Certegy, I believe this is done electronically, I believe payments post within 24 to 48 hrs. Call Certegy to double check that it has posted. Be sure you get some type of receiptfrom Walmart because Certegy WILL continue to call. I hope this helps.
