I downloaded this program for my website and was offered to try services for free. Nick is the ONLY person you ever reach at this company, also the owner (probably sits in his basement doing all of this).

Basically, I spoke with Nick and he agreed to offer me 8 features for 15.00 a month. Then he said he would only charge me 1/2 price for thes features. Well, I had spoken with him telling him that we decided to NOT pay for these features after the trial because our customers were really not using this live chat feature like we expected on our website. He said he would not charge me, but did.

Well, his withdraw was for my personal account, not my business and it was unauthorized, and caused my account to go into the negative status. I reported this to him and not only was his response unprofessionsl ("I suggest you maintain a larger deposit") but he also has the attitude of "I could care less".

I reccommend not using this crappy program! There are so many out there that are MUCH better and FREE!
When he was informed of this, he got really rude and crappy. (hey, design a better program next time)

He never told me I had to delete my credit card info, he never told me any of this stuff until afterwards. This experience has not only been horrible, but I have filed charges against him for theft and credit card abuse!

Beware! DO NOT USE CHAT STAT!!!!

I would like to take this time to recant my original complaint. I have since settled this matter with the business . Not only did the owner handle this situation professionally, but he made sure to address all the issues and take care of all of the problems. This matter was handled with the utmost attention by the owner and I have discovered that he is a nice gentleman. I regret not allowing him this opportunity sooner to resolve the issues.

As you can see, Nick did nothing to resolve this matter other than email us repeadly with no resolution to the issues.
I have found several sites in which other people have had the same experiences or very similar.
I have saved the chat and email that was sent which shows "do not charge my credit card..... our clients are not using this live chat feature as much as we expected............. I do not want to be billed after the free trial......."

Nick's response was "OKAY. You will not be billed"

He does in fact have criminal charges pending and is under investigation with his merchant...... perhaps they have more reports on file??? Not quite sure.... Either way, this company is a JOKE and a FRAUD! He is in more trouble than he thinks.

What does this mean?

Well, every time a link for your company pops up under any search engine (i.e. Google, yahoo), well, so will my link and report....usually takes a day or so, but it will be there.....also, these reports are irrevocable. Meaning they will NEVER be removed!

Ok, your wallet is deleted, your credit card information deleted, and your account deleted. All monies ever charged you refunded.

Our company did nothing other than to try and help you. As for as the BBB, I could care less, but do what you need to do to feel better.

Wow! What a horrible response to have received. I am pleased that I made the decision to uninstall your program. I will also file a formal complaint with the BBB. This charge was unauthorized and I hold you liable for the over draft fee.

As far as "maintaining a larger balance"

Had you not taken the money from my OLD personal account in Texas this would not have been a issue. I was under the understanding that 7.500 would be charged after my 15 day trial, then a monthly 15.00 fee.


And to correct you, I have saved the chat transcript between you and myself as well as the email I sent telling you to CANCEL BILLING MY CARD. I will report this information to my Authorize.net agent as well as the BBB.

Ok, a couple of points here.

1. We offer NEW users SIX features for $15 per month, on a permanent basis. That is half off, the regular price of $30. However, you must start paying the half off price right away, there is no trial period for that. This is the same deal offered to all customers, by all sales people, and is not dependent on who you speak with, and there are no variations of this offered.

2. Whenever you sign up for any online service, there are rules which you must follow to cancel. They almost always require the user to disable the feature, and in some cases, you can call in to cancel. Since we did not hear this from you, we have no idea you wanted to switch down to a free account. As soon as you made us aware, we credited you for services you received regardless.

3. Lastly, if your business account has gone negative due to our 15 dollar charge, may I suggest that you try and maintain a larger minimum balance.


I am sorry for your issues, and I do hope that your business will succeed, so that you will have the ability to grow hopefully into using our product.


A of right now, your still active, so please go to the features on demand panel and turn off features that are billable, if you wish.

If you really can't, or do not want to do this, please let me know and I will do it for you.

That 15.00 charge, well it caused my bank account to go negative!

You told me in a recorded conversation that you would only charge me 1/2 price for the first month.(all calls on our business line are recorded)

You also stated that you would include 8 features for 15.00 a month.

It has only been the trial period and you charged my account the full price. You also indicated that you would be sending a receipt but never did until yesterday.

Again, I was never told to "delete" my wallet or disable the features when I told you that our customers were not using this feature like we expected.

I now have a negative balance in my bank account because of this transaction. I will send you proof of this Monday when the bank opens.

First, let me say that I have credited you the full 15.00 charge, check your email for the receipt.
Michelle, nobody here at ChatStat makes changes to a customer's account. Each customer must enable/disable the features they wish to use, or cancel their account by deleting their wallet.
You were charged because there is a credit card on file in an active wallet, and there are features enabled.
The only way that a customer may cancel their account is to turn off all features and/or DELETE their wallet.
To do this, go to the WALLET AREA, and click the DELETE WALLET button.
I do hope that you will have a chance to do this, if you wish, before our next billing period in 2 weeks.

Nick, when on live chat, I indicated to you that we would not be interested in continuing with the paid features because our visitors are not using this feature as much as we expected.

Today I received a email showing I was billed $15.00 for services I already cancelled.


This charge was unauthorized and should not have been submitted. Please refund my money. We will continue to use the free version. If and when our client demands change on our website, we will consider your program first of course. But this charge today was unauthorized and needs to be refunded within 24 hours to avoid a charge back being filed.
