Secondly, it state in the terms and conditions.......and last but certainly not least. NOTHING in life is "free". Enough said. However, I doubt this will be the last report on this because there will be more people who believe this is actually "free" even though they want a credit card........sigh.

There are some merchants out there that are pretty good at hiding what a person will be charged, but this is NOT one of them. Call the merchant and tell them you wish to cancel your membership with them and then you should no longer be charged. If you do get charged after cancelling with them, I know that they are usually pretty good about giving you a refund if it was their error. And try and be more careful about who you give your financial information to, because in situations like this, you more than likely are not going to get any of your money back.

ConsumerInfo.com, Inc. and Freecreditreport.com are not affiliated with the annual free credit report program. Under a new Federal law, you have the right to receive a free copy of your credit report once every 12 months from each of the three nationwide consumer reporting companies. To request your free annual report under that law, you must go to www.annualcreditreport.com.'''
From the 'Step 2' page where you enter your credit card information:
'''Your credit card will not be charged during the free trial period. However, valid credit card information is required to establish your account.'''
Further down the page (about 2 inches on a 20 inch monitor)
'''Payment Information
When you order your free report here, you will begin your free trial membership in Triple Advantage SM Credit Monitoring. If you don't cancel your membership within 9 days of enrollment, you will be billed $14.95 for each month that you continue your membership. If you are not satisfied, you can cancel at any time to discontinue the membership and stop the monthly billing; however, you will not be eligible for a pro-rated refund of your current month's paid membership fee.'''
You were not ripped off.
I do find it amusing that the clowns at freecreditreport.com don't seem to know if it is a 7 (seven) day or 9 (nine) day free trial. Perhaps someone should point this out to them.
They need your money to pay for all those dumb commercials.
FYI: annualcreditreport.com is the REAL, FREE site to your credit.
