I have similar experience with the victims of CIT Lease Finance Group and Metropolitan Adjustment Bureau.
First of all, their receptionists, their agents and their customer service systems bear the same traits in the following behavior departments: the rude department(keep yelling at customers and hang up on customers, the indecency department (they tend to yell at you before you have a chance to as a question), the lying department (promise this and that just to get your money, once they got the money they don't fullfil their parts and close your account without letting you speak to the agent ever again if you have a simple question or dispute).
There is one department that they are really good at, something that they excel in and something that they are so proud of, that is the threatening department.
When I closed my business last year, I called and made an settlement arrangement to pay a certain amount. The agreement between me and CIT was that I first send them back the machine, confirm its arrival then make the final payment(payment which I don't understand how they got my sister trapped in in the first place). Anyway, after I sent the machine back and confirmed it arrival, that took about 2-3 weeks, before I knew it they already sent my case to MAB to collection with all the fine charges and a bunch of other stupid stuff (within 30 days of our agreement). And this guy from MAB contacted me so I called back to Lease Finance Group.
It took me 2 weeks of constant every day calling to get to someone who understands the heart of the matter. Her name was Barbara Smith, she's about the only nice and reasonable person they've got. So that someone agreed with me that they made a mistake sending it to collection so early.
She told me she would help and that I would pay on that same day. Again, she told me to give her my fax number so she can fax the paperwork and the form to pay directly by credit card. She told me to wait for the forms, fill them out, give her a call back, then make the payment. I waited and waited and waited, no fax arrived. I called, no one picked up the fone, I left message after message with my call back number, no one return my call.
And then I took me another week of constant daily calling to speak with a supervisor who didn't care about hearing what happened, the only thing she cared about was the money and yelling at me. As if she's the one who has to pay.???? Helloo. If i'm the one who have to pay and i'm not mad, what the fu** are you so mad about ???? Not to mention all the harassings from the receptionist name Kim who likes to yell very much. Her expertise it seems.
So then I couldn't do anything else but got back to MAB do the full payment. First, a guy named Todd Adams asked me how I want to pay. I said I would pay by check directly through my checking account. He then said if I paid by check, he won't clear my record but if I pay through direct wiring, as a courtesey he would clear every thing in my record. So I agreed and I told him I need something in writing saying that everything has been cleared and debt has been paid in full once the wiring xfer is through. I simply wanted a receipt of some kind to back me up in the case CIT tries to get more from me. The guy promised me if I paid in full through wiring, he would fax me a written statement and all the clearance paper work in the same day. His word was "promise".
Guess what??? Transfer was though, waited and waited and waited. No fax, no call no nothing from Todd Adams or MAB.
So I called to MAB. Guess what else? I can't even get to speak anymore. The receptionist just kept on shoving words into my mouth. She kept saying "your case is closed, we don't have anything to do with you anymore, you can't speak with anyone else". After a while of begging her for me to speak with Todd Adams, and that I'm not asking for anything I just want to speak with him as a person, she finally calmed down and refused in a softer manner. She said she couldn't do that and I have to call back at 2:15 to speak to a supervisor, but not Todd! What the fu** for??? Did I do something wrong???
So I nicely asked her if it's the case that I cannot get in touch with Todd through her then could she please ask Todd to call me back? Because previous week he called me 4-5 times. She refused and hung up the phone.
As if they are doing something wrong? WHY???
WHY are they hiding like cowards???? I already paid. They got paid for collecting?
Guess what? They want to make more money out of you. They want to rip you off further.
Later when I called, I realize that they want to charge $40 for faxing the proof of payment clearance??
Isn't that professional.
I'm going to get these people somehow.
