Comenity Bank is trying to extort money from me. I had a Pier One Credit Card that I did not realize had a small balance. Comenity over took Pier One's previous bank credit card service, and no one called me about my balance for months. They called me after about 5 months. (My balance was $20 originally) and told me I owed $100. and change. I refused to pay all of the late charges and they said they would wave those. I paid my balance and some interest. I felt like I was dealt with fairly, and was happy. But closed my account anyway, because I don't use it that often, and I did not like how they never contacted me about the balance before letting it go for 5 months.

Approximately two months later, I received another phone call saying I had a balance. They had never cleared the late charges, and told me I owed them again. I insisted that the previous person and I had made arrangements and I had paid in full, and that those charges were to be erased from my record. As well as having any poor credit reporting wiped off my account as well. They agreed on the mistake, and said they would take care of it.

I started receiving harassing phone calls, three times a day from them again, and I did not answer because my account was paid in full, and closed and I figured they had no reason to call me. I was getting so sick of the phone ringing from them, I answered and they said I had a balance AGAIN. By this time I was completely livid and can't believe they are trying to extort money out of me again. I am sure some poor innocent person would just keep paying them anytime they say there is a late fee, but not me. I told them I would not be paying and that they needed to correct the problem immediately or I would take legal action. I got the associates name and number this time, and I am so sick of them I could scream. I have never worked with a more horrible credit card company! I will never use them again, and if they call me again, they will most definitely have a legal issue on their hands. Watch out for Comenity. They are going to RIP YOU OFF!

I also got erroneous late charges: Comenity Bank

AUTHOR: Trudi - ()

POSTED: Monday, August 19, 2013

Apparently, other people are having problems with Comenity Bank's erroneous charges, such as late charges that were invisible.   I am fearful after cancelling my account & card TODAY that they will not follow through because of a verbal transaction over the phone and I will be bothered in the future for charges that I did not incur.

Therefore, I have to document everything in writing to the appropriate person to try and get some justice here.  I also have to check my credit which is normally excellent (over 760) to see if they changed it for the worse by reporting untrue statements.

I've always paid my bills on time which is one reason for having excellent credit.  I continued doing so with a Pier One Credit card issued by one bank and then transferred over to Comenity bank at some point showing that I had two accounts open on my credit report which is in error.  They just never bothered to delete my old account.

The maximum balance I ever had at Pier One was for $225.  I paid the minimum amount of $25 until I got my last bill of $31.  But then there was this $94 charge that I knew nothing about.  I called and they told me it was for accrued late fees.  In looking at my bank statements, it is obvious that I paid $25 every month with no lapses the day I got the bill.  How does one accrue a late charge for $225 total of $94???  Nothing theys aid makes sense and I believe they are either inefficient or purposely find ways to rip consumers off.

I agree that Comenity Bank is a rip off.  I had them through Value City and they not only jacked up my interest on a monthly basis, they constantly changed my due dates, the amounts due and never credited me two different amounts that they owed me for overpayment and for Identity Protection.  Now they are leaving Value City and hopefully other companies will get the same idea...don't deal with Comenity Bank.  As far as Jim from Orlando...it seems you are either a bully or you work for the bank.  Why attack the person that had a really horribly experience with said bank through her Pier One card?  Seriously.

Late Balance

AUTHOR: COMMENITY BANK IS TRYING TO EXTORT - (United States of America)

POSTED: Wednesday, December 12, 2012

First of all JIM, my late balance was because Pier One switched from the bank they were using TO Commenity. They didn't send me statements AT ALL. So, I couldn't "check my statements" I couldn't even log into their system at all! So, no, it was no "My fault" and second of all, after clearing my account and PAYING IN FULL, I continued to receive calls about a balance I DID NOT OWE. It would be great if you could read.

This is Comedy Time, Right?

First you have a balance and let it go for months at a time because even though it is YOUR account, YOU don't even bother reading YOUR OWN statement. Then they tell you some months later YOU have another balance which YOU never caught because STILL you don't read your statements. And its all their fault, right? Please...get some professional help.
