I found this company on the internet as they were one of the first companies to come up. My salesperson initially was incredibly accommodating and attentive. In retrospect very sleek. As soon as I paid my money, it was game over. Everything changed. Calls weren't returned. The technical people who I was told would contact me never did. Phone calls were ignored. It was game over. The list sent out was roughly 8,500, I received 9 clicks. It was a big ZERO. I worked with a company several months ago and the response was completely different; far superior in data and service. Consumer Base's data proved to be in complete conflict with the analytics that I had on my website. That comparative analysis was what raised the red flag. In time I met someone who worked for the company but quit. I was told he no longer could work in such an unethical workplace. I was then told that the lists that they so highly promote are mostly bogus. The lists that I paid for, and of course never saw, were made up of a lot of garbage emails. It is mostly the small business person who is trying to drive traffic to their site, and it is the small business person who can least take the hit. Consumer Base are scam artists and they should be shut down. I urge anyone thinking of engaging their services, NOT to. You will have wasted good hard earned money which could be better spent somewhere else. I really do not want to see anyone go through what I went through.
