i started with cpc in may 2009 to mar 2013.they claimed that they wanted me to have a pleasant employment experience,yet to be.the first three months no problem.i bided a new route ,problem with 2 other drivers who took short cuts in their duties so they could beat me to the next stop and cheat me out of my load.reported this to dispatch,nothing changed.one of the drivers who calls himself [tom slick] manages to get himself promoted to safety manager,he's no safer than the next person.exceeding the speed limit,weaving in and out of traffic.
when giving road tests encouraging drivers to stretch the speed limit.thats when they started to lose my trust and respect.his work ethics were not inline with the ethics of the position.i pulled my punches on this no brainer desision by not writing a letter to corporate exposing this person,went along to get along.he didnt practice what he was preaching. .....i later took a different route going to two different places which involved putting in at least 40 hrs a week.they forced me to take on a third route because i was the convienent answer to their problem when there was someone else convienent who did'nt have a steady second route[forced dispatch].
in recent years i have been diagnosed with hypertention,severe sleep apnea,im overweight,and have developed sore knees and shoulders.i am on meds and cpap and dont have much energy and enthusiasm.since about sept 2012 honda beefed up production which required alot of saturday work.i put in several saturdays for them.so im not feeling to well this week and i call in to the manager[max clery] on 3-1-13 to call off on 3-2-13,i show them some respect in advance instead of calling 2 hrs before im actually dispatched and before the schedule gets posted.they want to classify it as a refusel to dispatch and a voluntary quit.
he didnt say not to come back so i went in today to report for dispatch and they had me on the schdule but refused to dispatch me and i was told by max clery that they did'nt have any thing for me. others in the past have called off freqently and are still there.they are also trying to support their argument about me taking a different truck to do my route that was'nt one of the assigned trucks because those were'nt availible back in sept2012. there are still people today that are taking different trucks and they dispatch trucks to different routes.
the way they do business changes like the weather.they have claimed that im a valued employee and going to just drop me.before my time they used to award bonuses to the potential of $1400 per yr and were still advertising it in their application packet[false advertising].there are people who like to only bid on mediocre routes that only require them to invest 40hrs a week or less and there are those that by their own hand bid on and or are forced dispatched to invest 50-70hrs a week.
then last summer the safety manager wannabe and former manager who only lasted about 4 mo. were trying to suck up to us by cooking up hambergars and hotdogs for driver appretiation.put everyone in the same boat and say we are all equally appretiated regardless of our contributions[socialist] the company gets to hold back $1400 per person about 150 drivers = over $200,000 and all they got is hambergars and hotdogs.when they could have steaks ,pork chops,ribs ,brats every weekend.im not just going to take any ole bone they throw at me like others.
please pardon my spelling.and let me mention the ring leader [scott moorman]who oversees this terminal from cincinnati.another cheesy,smily politician type and the v.p butch wallis are the ones handing down the verdict.and let me mention that that there is no written rule that im aware of that says a call off 2hrs prior to dispatch requires any type of disciplen.these people just pull things out their butt to suite their own purpose.cpc has to suck off the tit of clark trucking to be in business and is under the roof of the midwest express group.
and when things start happening outside the box of the control freaks and gi dave jacobson of clark trucking gets wind of it he will pitch a b*tch to cpc and they have to kiss that t**s a** and s ometimes they make a mountain out of a mole hill.when i took that other truck i was suspened untill further notice pending investigation.former manager vance murphy said he would call me.unbeknown to me he got fired and the tom slick gilmore was nolonger there either.i called in later to talk to moorman to put me back on the roster.so i was cheated out of aweeks pay and pay for labor day.and they also have issues with keeping my pay strait.
i have been overpaid,underpaid,paid for other peoples work.i am still short $108 for 2 f&p loads,whichones i dont know,which i just wrote off because i was overpaid $96 which they didnt take back.i started to keep records of my load#.in away my separation is a blessing.life is too short to be married to a s**t job.i will be alright since i made good use of my income and have become debt free.no mortgage,med bill,loans,taxes,ins paid up for the year.it would be wise to do this because harder times are ahead,if your keeping up with current events.so good luck to you in your pursuit of a livelyhood and other thing.im just trying to make it to 8-2020 to collect that ssi and you might see me a wallyworld if not before then.
