This is how it is in EAST CHICAGO, IN..

Everything that has been mentioned about CR England is VERY TRUE!! However, the most important thing that was left out more than anything is the ">STARTING PAY FOR BEGINNER TRUCK DRIVERS<"!!

When I spoke to my recruiter about the "START PAY" I was SPECIFICALLY INFORMED that I would start out MINIMUM $750.00 to $850.00 maximum on a weekly bases. When I started training I found out that was a lie. It ALL DEPENDS ON NOTHING BUT MILEAGE. IF YOU START OUT SOLO YOU'LL MAKE $400 something odd dollars to 500+. Now if you were to TEAM UP with SOMEONE ONLY THEN YOU WOULD SEE $600+ to $700+ or maybe $800+...

NOTE::: "IT ALL DEPENDS ON MILEAGE" While you are with your OVER THE ROAD TRAINER AFTER RECEIVING YOUR CLASS A CDLs you will only earn ($00.11)a mile not ($00.24, 25,26,27,28, or 29 cents a mile)

Now NOONE is there for food or anything else. People only come for ONE THING & ONE THING ONLY WHICH IS THERE CLASS A CDL. To train for it to meet all the qualifications that is REQUIRED FOR THEM TO GET THERE CDLs as well as work and get paid for it. Now CR England RECRUITERS need to STOP MISLEADING PEOPLE INTO BELIEVING OTHERWISE. THAT IS WHAT MAKE PEOPLE LEAVE ON THERE OWN TERMS ONCE THEY GO THROUGH ONE OR MORE DAYS OF THAT FIRST WEEK IN CLASS AFTER IT'S ALL SAID AND DONE.

BE HONEST ABOUT WHAT YOUR COMPANY PROVIDES IT STUDENTS. THAT'S IT AND THAT'S ALL!!

THAT CUP-A-NOODLE IS YOUR CONTINENTAL LUNCH WHICH YOU HAVE YOUR CHOICE OF CHICKEN AND\OR BEEF. ALL YOU NEED IS A FORK AND ADD HOT WATER. THEY HAVE THEM BY THE CASES AND NEVER RUN OUT OF THEM.

I was also told, "THAT I WOULD (NOT) NEED ANY MONEY TO COVER FOR BREAKFAST AND LUNCH BECAUSE I WAS GETTING A CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST & LUNCH!! After speaking to more than ONE person I later found out that you did NEED MONEY for YOUR FOOD NOT JUST DINNER!!! Every MORNING you have DONUTS, CEREAL, MILK, AND COFFEE. The MILK WAS CONSTANTLY PUT OUT ON THE TABLE AFTER THE EXPIRATION DATE EXPIRED. NOONE WOULD BOTHER TO THROW THE MILK CONTAINER AWAY OR POOR IT OUT. They would even draw a line through the expiration date with a permanent black marker so you could not see the EXP. DATE on the MILK CONTAINER... Even when the MILK is NO GOOD AND SPOILED they still continue to put it out on the table EVERY MORNING.

CR England School, Pay, Recruiters & Honesty

AUTHOR: Kn - (U.S.A.)

About four months ago I became interested in obtaining my Class A license. I have two cousins and one in-law who have been driving OTR for several years, so I talked to each of them and asked a lot of questions. I asked all about the industry, the training required, schools they would recommend, good and not-so-good companies to work for, what to watch out for, etc.

Next, I got on the internet and did some more research. When it came time to decide on a school for getting my Class A, I chose CR England's school in Mira Loma California for several reasons:

1. Although they all currently work for different companies, all three of my commercial driver relatives highly recommended CR England's school - specifically the school in Mira Loma.

2. It was close to home

3. It was an accelerated program that finishes in 3 weeks (I have a close family friend who is getting his Class A through Con-Way and it is taking 16 weeks - too long a wait for me)

When making my decision, I spoke with recruiters from five different schools and I felt the CR England recruiter I dealt with was the most straight forward. He was clear and accurate about what I needed to do to qualify for the program, what I needed to do to survive the program (he specifically recommended bringing enough money for food and necessities to last at least 1 month - just in case) and he was very up front about training pay, post-training pay and benefits, etc.

In fact, all the pay info was clearly out-lined in the CR England literature packet I got in the mail before I even decided to go to thier school. Then on the first two days of class the instructors went over everything in minute detail just in case someone may have not heard it all from thier recruiter or read it in the hand outs.

When I got to the school I found everything I was told to be true. First, I was very happy that I'd saved extra money before I went there and that I did not need to rely on the hotel to provide my food. No argument on the hotel "Continental Breakfast" being meager and lacking in nutrients. But, my recruiter had warned me about this.

Second, the course was indeed accelerated and I did have to work hard to learn all the material, constantly practice my skills and pay close attention to everything the insrtuctors said. At times it was very challenging and at first I felt very intimidated.

Although there was one instructor I was uncomfortable with, the other twelve instructors I dealt with were patient, positive, funny and willing to help me learn in any way they could.

Over all, I had a very positive experience and managed to learn a lot and get my Class A in the process. It was not perfect, but it was exactly what my recruiter said it would be, so I guess the lesson is to read all the papers they send you, pay attention when the instructors talk, keep asking questions and don't rely on the hotel to provide your food.

Turia, I'm sorry you and others on this site had a negative experience and that you felt it was a rip-off.

All I can say is that my experience was just the opposite. I feel that CR England has, so far, shown integrity and fairness in thier dealings with me. Now I have my Class A (along with the other 20 students who graduated with me) and I'm looking forward to new adventures as a commercial driver.

I wish you luck and happiness.
