talk about a rip off, I filed for a Cross Country Visa! What a joke, they sent me a visa, I used it, made my first payment on time, of $35.00 (balance was 600.00). Then the next payment came in, the bill was 70$, balance never decreased they added, 27.00$ late fee, for which my payment was not late!

Then the second payment I made(70$) I made over the phone, for which I had to pay a long distance charge to get these people, then they had the nerve to charge me $10.00 for the service of Pay by phone! Now I get my newest bill, and the payment is 100.00$ I HAVE NOT CHARGED a thing since DECEMBER! And bill never seems to decreased with all their charges, I am going to cut up there charge card and send it back to them!

They are a major rip off! A 5.00$ fee service charge every month even if you don't charge, they call it a (cash advance fee) which I never used! Please catch these people before I make another payment!!!It says that telphoneing them will not preserve my rights, should I have a problem with the bill!

I too dealt with the CCB employee. I filed a cease and desist complaint with their company after this person cussed out a supervisor of mine that was trying to explain to him that I could not have phone calls at work. She put him on the speakerphone in her office so I could hear him. Then after about 15 minutes of his nasty and profane outburst, I was suspended for 3 days without pay...he did not get his payment either!!!

Dont worry Emily I read on here somewhere from an EX Employee that due to the lawsuit the center this employee worked at was closed down. and that the "big guys" didnt even stand behind them. Karma ..it'll get you everytime!

The only reason this idiot is making $20 an hr. is because of all the rip-off collection fees that this bank charges. When this comes to an end(which it will) he will be flipping burgers or in the unemployment line. Someone with his intelligence doesnt seem like hes smart enough to have much of an education. Mr. CCB worker I advice you to keep your mouth shut and let people speak out about this crooked bank. Why dont you go back to school and get a real job? You may really want to consider this when this bank goes under.

FIRST OFALL I WOULD LIKE TO SAY THAT THIS SITE IS FOR THE CONSUMER AND THEREFORE WE HAVE EVERY RIGHT TO "COMPLAIN" ABOUT THE UNFAIR TACTICS OF COMPANIES THAT OBVIOUSLY TAKE ADVANTAGE OF PEOPLE AND HIRE THESE TYPE OF AGGRESSIVE ABBUSIVE COLLECTORS AS WEVE SEEN HERE , TWICE. MY COMMENT IS THAT MY EX HUSBAND HAS ALSO BEEN A VICTIM OFF CROSS COUNTRY. HE FOUND OUT ABOUT IT ONLY AFTER HE WAS SENT TO COLLECTIONS. HE DID NOT RECEIVE A BILL, NOTICE OF ANY KIND AND HAS NEVER SIGNED UP FOR THE CARD. WE CONTACTED ALL THREE CREDIT BUREUS AND 2 OF THEM DELETED THE COLLECTION, ONLY ONE REMAINED WE TRIED TO GET PROOF FROM THEM OR A CONTRACT OR SOMETHING AS TO WHY THEY ARE STATING HE DID APPLY FOR THE CARD IT HAS BEEN ALMOST A YEAR AND WE HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANY KIND OF RESPONSE OR RESULUTION IN THIS MATTER. THE EMPLOYEE THAT WORKS FOR CROSS COUNTRY, THAT MADE A COMMENT HERE IS TELLING EVERYONE TO BE RESPONSIBLE..WHAT A JOKE !!CROSS COUNTRY IS THE ONE IT SEEMS TO ME THAT IS NOT STEPPING UP TOO THE PLATE. To the collector that wrote the filthy rebuttal. You are one of the reasons why CCB is being sued by several State Attorney General's office. I never had an account with CCB, but you were the one that threatened to "F" me up.

That comment is on file with the FTC and the Delaware Banking Commission.

I am the one that told you that Smith and Wesson rules this home and in the State of Colorado, we have the "Make My Day" Law and the LCCW law which is Licensed to Carry and Conceal a weapon. You hung up. B

But the damage you have done to other people and your so-called company will never ever heal. I suggest that you start looking for another job and I hope that Ripoff Reports track you down and file the biggest lawsuit against you and you are not allowed to file for bankruptcy when you are faced with a large judgement.

I've just recently become aware of this company's unprofessional business practise. About two months ago, my Father received a call from a collection agency stating he had an outstanding balance due on his Cross Country Visa card. He knew he had never applied for one, so he simply told the women, let me have your number so I can call my Son, he has the exact name as me. I contacted the company and replyed to the women, I too have never applied for a card from such company. After a few minutes of confirming information with her (Last four of SS and address etc.), we concluded that she had the incorrect person. About a month later to date, I recieve this call again about this very same issue. Once again, I tell the women, "I was under the impression we had settled this issue". Without an apology, she simply hung-up the phone. What rudness. Guilt by no association whatsoever.

Thanks Renee, Former employee for Capital One.
I have fallin pry to Providian, Cross Country, Orchard and Capital One. Trying to bring my credit rating to an acceptable status. Your advise was just what I need to get me back on track. My accounts are low balances, since reading your advise I am going to pay these accounts off asap!

After reading some of the horrible stories of rip-offs I am going to be far more aware then I was previously. We need more people like you in customer service. I can't believe an employee of Cross Country Bank would put those horrible comments in writing.

My daughter is in credit collections for a bank she has one of the highest quota in return debt payments she says its because she talks to people like they are human beings not like dirt. In turn they, the customers won't talk to anyone except her. Whether we like it or not our economy is on a down slide.

We the ditch diggers, fast food workers, doctors, lawyers and indian chiefs all want a better life thats why we are all working hard to maintain what we already have the honest way. If we have a hard time paying our bills its not because we don't want to! It's because we are having a hard time stretching those dollars.

As time moves on things will get better! Got to Pray on It! My hat's off to all those people who work hard for a living! No matter what line of work! Too Bad We All Can't Be CEO's! Bet they don't have a CCB Card, No, they probably own CCB.

Its no wonder the new hamphire attorney general is filing suit. I know i have had my run-ins with providian and they are bad. but i wouldnt put up with someone talking to me that way.

You sure don't care about the customers that are
allowing you to earn your money. Are you sure
you're earning $20 bucks an hour?

You have a personality that says you earn 20 cents an hour or even less. If you worked for me, I'd pay you less than 2 cents an hour! Get real and clean up that filthy mouth.

Read Ephesians 4:29 that tells us to let know corrupt (or filthy) communications (language) proceed out of our mouths!!! GROW

customers. Learn how to talk with people.
Don't get angry with customers when they call with
problems of having CCB harrass them for mistakes
made by CCB themselves.

If you feel that way about the customers, you need to quit or get help in dealing with people. If I ever got to the point that you're at with the customers, I would leave and work somewhere else.

I can tell you're on your job purely for the money and not for the people. I think if you were in the same boat CCB's customers, I believe your response would be much different and more compassionate. What goes around will come around. How you and your company treat people will come back to you 7-fold.

this is to clear up some of the comments concerning cross country bank and its practices. being in collections for over 5yrs with capitol one, you see alot of bad things happening to good people.

the advise i give to all who have poor or severely damaged credit, capitol one, providian, cross country, orchard should only be used to help you re-establish your credit.

make sure you make your payments on time and try to pay the balance in full monthly so you will return back to the original credit limit.

this will help you avoid all the "hook line and sinker" fees. you have to be smart. read your so called "junk mail", read your statement and disclosure, ask questions about your bill. don't charge what you can not pay. after a year or so, close the account down and make sure you tell them to give the amount that will zero balance your account and then do a check by phone the same day.

if you are mailing or western union your payment, call back when you think payment is recieved, and again ask if account is current and zero balanced.

i have seen accounts get closed and the customer things fees stop, this is not the case, fees continue until account is brought to "zero balance". then, i suggest you apply for a "real credit card" that doesn't have so many fees, and a fixed apr.

i myself had a cross country bank card, but by being in collection and knowing how to work the system, i now have american express platinum and direct merchant mastercard. if all else fails "read" and open all your "junk mail", if you recieve a "pre-approved certificate or card make sure you respond and read the fine print.

Rip-off Report is investigating this because this persons response is so illogical and unresponsive that it would explain a lot about the reported unethical practices of this bank. If true, it is understandable why its victims complain about the abuses.
