Everything in the description line actually happened to me and my husband. Their guaranteed hometime policy is only guaranteed when they feel like getting you home. We spent 4 months out on the road only to be told they denied our hometime due to not being eligible. Excuse me? We are entitled to 6 days a month hometime and We havent seen home in 4 months? I think theres a problem there.
Dont ever get hurt at work. I unfortuantely am the only one that has been unable to find an attorney to take my case. But I can attest to the fact that every other work comp employee here has an attorney only because CRST would not do what they said they would do. I am still on work comp currently, even though the doctor said I could go back to work as long as I could wear the brace on my hand for tendon support. Well the company said no. There was no reason given as to why they would not allow me to go back to work. Maybe they just like paying 6.75 hour compared to the whopping .24 cpm I normally get.
If you go through one of their schools you will be told you will have to pay back the money they spend on you during that 3 weeks you are in school. Kewl I dont have a problem with that, what I do have a problem with is paying 3900 to a company that never paid that out of their pocket for the school. You heard me right. The US government paid for our school but yet CRST gets reimbursed for it. HUM!?!
There is no open door policy with this company. When you try to utilize it, you are told I dont have time to answer your questions because they arent valid. You have no say with this company. If you are having problems, too bad. If the truck breaks down and maintenance refuses to fix it its your problems. We had to fight long and hard to get our downtime pay for the truck being in a shop every other state. They wouldnt even give us a new truck. Threaten them with DoT and you might see a msg on your qcom saying go to the nearest shop so we can tell them not to fix the dot parts.
I DEFINATELY DO NOT recommend this company to anyone who is looking for a career change. You wont get very far and youll end up loosing your house, car, storage etc because you havent made enough money to pay your bills. If you need schooling there are more than plenty companies out there that will school you. I dont plan on being with this company much longer. Just need to finish their work comp stuff. If anyone else has a similar story or even a totally different one about this same company, I would love to hear it. Thanks.
