So I get the Intoxalock like 3 months ago. No problems whatsoever, until my second recalibration. The first unit I get starts to give me problems right away. It looked like it hadn't been taken care of by the previous renter. Either way, it starts making me blow in it over and over again saying my breaths weren't sufficient. When I am breathing as I always have. Then one day, during a snow storm I get stranded with my wife and kids in a parking lot up the road. I blow over and over and just keeps saying too soft. AAA comes to tow it and magically when I try to breathe in it works. When I get it home it refuses to start back up. I call the company and they agree to ship me another one. Yet I still have to pay the installer his 15 dollar fee. The next unit works pretty good, gives me a little trouble here and there. The other night I go to pick my wife up from work, 5 mins up the road.. IT starts and I pick her up. As I am pulling into the driveway it requires a sample. I breathe in, the damn thing freezes and then says FAILED. It informs me to wait while it counts down and then asks for another sample. I give it and this time it says PASSED. WTF!!! This wouldn't frustrate me so much if I did drink something, anything. I haven't drank alcohol in a year, and I didn't have any water or liquid of any sort for at least 3 hours before driving! Why would it allow me to start the truck, drive 5 mins up the road and 5 back, then say I failed, and two mins later say I passed? Now I have to go have it serviced, pay almost 85 dollars, and have a violation on my account! I don't drink alcohol, use mouthwash or chew gum! So how is it they can say these things are 100% accurate? How can they report to the dmv that you violated? I don't even want to drive anymore because this thing is so unreliable. I feel like I'm going to have an anxiety attack everytime I use this damn thing. How can these companies get away with this and why are the DMV's so naive to see that there are failure rates for everything?! This company has so far caused me $100 in unnecessary fees!
