I would think very carefully and do my research before taking my beloved animal to CVS. There are other specialty hospitals and emergency clinics in the San Diego and North County area that I feel are far superior to CVS. I made the mistake of trusting CVS with the care of my dog and will regret this decision for the rest of my life. He had surgery and died the next day under very suspicious circumstances while still in their care. My experience is that this facility demonstrates a devastating lack of standards and professional practices that one would expect from a veterinary specialty hospital, especially one that charges such high fees. There is a general lack of communication within the staff, and between the staff and their clients, which results in undue suffering and pain for the unfortunate animals left in their care.  I find it hard to believe that they provide the best care possible for a sick or injured animal. It's too late for me to bring back my sweet dog, but maybe reading this will cause you to think twice. 

Please explore your options before deciding to trust these people.

After a paid consultation with Dr. Dhupa I agreed to have him perform a laryngeal tie-back surgery on my dog only to find out that not only did he NOT perform the surgery, but that Dr. Christian Osmond had with the assistance of a new intern, and I have the treatment sheets initialed by Dr. Osmond and this intern to prove it in case anyone doubts it. I truly believe that this situation represents a major violation of trust,  at the very least. Had I been given the choice of going with another surgeon instead of Dr. Dhupa I would have refused and gone back to Veterinary Specialty Hospital, which is what I should have done from the beginning. Dr. Dhupa is not to be trusted, he will say and do anything in order to protect his interests, rather than putting the welfare of your animal first.
