SCAM ALERT: BEWARE OF CAL WEST PROPERTY MANAGEMENT OF SAN LUIS OBISPO!!!
Where do I start. Well, I would like to say our landlord was amazingly kind. But he was a fool for letting cal west do his property management. Cal-west was the most rude and unprofessional. We had so many problems with this company.
The first problem we had was we had a pipe burst in the apartment above us that flooded our kitchen. It took 3 phone calls to find out what was going on and why it was taking so long for someone to come out and stop/fix the flooding. My husband ended up calling our landlord himself and he came out an hour later. When we called cal west they made it seem unimportant and like we were over Exaggerating. So frustrating.
The second problem was our fridge broke. I was a new mother at the time and had two full boxes of pumped milk that was going to be ruined. If you are a mother you know that milk is like gold. When we called the after hours emergency line they told us it wasn't an emergency and to call back during regular hours. When we explained the situation they weren't sympathetic in the least. Even sounded more annoyed. We ended up having to store the milk in my neighbors freezer which is super awkward/creepy. When we called our landlord a few days later (after several calls to cal west) he had not been notified of the situation. It took 3 days to get a new fridge. Out of control.
The last problem was that when our lease was FINALLY over we paid someone to clean our apartment. It was spotless. They had an inspector come to check it before we left. The inspector tracked in so much dirt. And then commented on how dirty the floors were. He also said we had to clean out the grease between the two panes. Which is completely impossible since they are screwed in and are not ment to be taken apart. In the end they tried to take our deposit, which from word of mouth they do to everyone.
Word of advice: DON'T RENT FROM CAL WEST Property Management! They are crooks and don't care about their tenants.
