I guess I am just echoing the other posters here... I'M SICK TO MY STOMACH... if ANYONE knows how to recoup (sp) the monthly fees from these scumbags, PLEASE HELP US...
Found them on the web back in 12/07, WISH I had checked here first!!!
They said they would contact all of my creditors, keep them at bay, and them settle with them on an average of 50 cents on the dollar.
Started paying them monthly in January 2008...
My creditors continued to call daily, whatever... I felt as though it was being "HANDLED" by EXPERIENCED ATTORNEYS...
TODAY, 8/20/08, I get a civil summons in the mail, I'm being sued for $900 +/-, so I figure no sweat, let me call these guys and let them take care of it...
like so many others have said, the guy (WILLIAM KINCADE - apparently they have outsourced customer service through HTTP://WWW.AMERICORP.US) tells me to file an answer to the complaint, go to court, and I will likely be put on a payment plan to pay the debt, now with more interest and attorney fees IN FULL. Once that happens, they remove it from your "plan."
So I ask him, "Why not negotiate with these guys and take it out of my escrow.... he comes back and says I don't have enough in my account?!!??!!? So I am like, how much is in my account, I have been paying several hundred dollars for 7 months now... he is like "you have $183 in escrow." I am like W T F !!!!!!! How can this be !!???
So he proceeds to tell me that a large chunk of my monthy "payment" to them is for services and fees, plus a $59.99/month fee, so I have basically paid them $3240 over 7 months, and they have done ABSOLUTELY NOTHING FOR ME...
So then I ask him, what if ALL my creditors sue me? and I have to make payment to them ALL ??? Do I still have to pay you? Do I get my money back?? No answer to that...
I had him e-mail a copy of the original agreement, and sure enough, after looking through it, I see the fees understand what he was saying.... I SURE DIDN'T UNDERSTAND IT THIS WAY when I signed up... I was only told about the $59.99/month to be taken out...
AVOID THESE SCUMBAGS LIKE THE PLAGUE...
I am going to file a complaint with everyone I can think of, starting with the NY Bar Association. If anyone has

Phone Legal Aid in your area. They should be in the white pages of your phone book. Many of the attorneys listed in the Yellow Pages will assist you at no cost.
The way I understand it, Much of your income and assets is exempt from payout.
You may be able to sue the collectors and this "Law Firm" to get some of your money back as they know the law and should have told you about bankruptcy.
