Campus Realtors does not respond to maintenance requests in an appropriate and timely manner. A week after moving in, my kitchen floor was infested with maggots. When I reported this, they said sorry, they could not exterminate maggots, and there was nothing they could do. Maggots for goodness sakes!!!! I spent 3 days bleaching my floors to get ride of them. In the same week, all the kitchen outlets went out. It took them a solid week to fix them.
We also had an ant problem within the first month, and I had to fight with them to get the apartment sprayed. The AC went out, and everytime I called they said my phone call would be returned. And it was, but after 2 to 3 days! The heater went out and was not replaced for 2 weeks in the dead of winter. The AC went out again during graduation week and it took them 3 days to fix it. If I wanted a maintenance request completed, I had to essetially babysit them until it was done.
A month before my lease ended, I asked the office about the check out procedures, which I followed completely. After 2 weeks from turning in my apartment key, I called to ask if my deposit had been sent out and they replied that they did not have to return it. They wanted to, however, so I had to have my 3 ex-roommates approve the release. They did not look over the apartment themselves. After my ex-roommates released my deposit request, Campus still did not send it. For 3 weeks they told me it would be mailed on Wednesday or Thursday.
I finally had to state that if it was not taken care of immediately, I would involve a lawyer. To this, the manager accused me of threatening him! They then proceeded to call me and say there was a discrepancy and that they could not verify what I paid as a deposit. When I stated it was a month's worth in rent, they did not seem to think I was being honest even though their deposit clearly states that a month's worth of rent has to be put down. Well, I paid the same monthly rent for a year.... In addition, if I called and left my name, the manager was always busy and never returned my phone call, but if I lied about my name, he picked up almost immediately.
I have never dealt with such an inconsiderate group. They always give the tenant the run around and then play the he said-she said game when they are caught in a lie. It is ridiculous the lack of customer service I received from Campus Realtors. This business is run by a bunch of 25-year-olds that know nothing about the services they provide nor the appropriate way to treat the customer.
