Advice for this same problem
AUTHOR: Steven - (U.S.A.)

1. Never give anyone your checking account number. This is pretty much self explanitory. Because anyone with your number can withdraw from your account via the banks e-payment program.
2. Never agree to something on the first call. Tell them you will think it over and to call back. Take notes of each call and look for discrepinces(SIC)
3. If the offer sounds to good to be true it probably is.
4. The police are there to help but only if a certain number of people file the same complaint. Remeber the police have there hands into all manners of crimes and usually can't respond to something like this with much efficency but if you keep calling they will get to it eventually.
Thats all hope this helps anyone who gets this same type of call.
