Capital One In a nut shell, I noticed Capital One had reported me for late payments. This is false because I make my payments every month and have my bank account statements to prove it. What Capital One did is m , Internet

I guess I can start by saying Capital One reported me for making a late payment, which is false. In a nutshell, I recently checked my credit reports and noticed I have a negative inquiry from Capital One. I wondered why, so I called them up and got some specially trained agent who could not figure out why either.  He then begins to explain that I had made a payment that was not of the correct amount for that month. Meaning, they have the power to say you made your payment late, even though you didn't. I understand a payment was made for 25 dollars instead of 35, but this does not mean it was a late payment! It was an honest mistake on my part. What is bothering me is I have been a Capital One customer for over eight years. I talked to two different, specially trained agents, whom did not even try to resolve the matter. So I closed my account. You can sit there and explain the problem, but its useless. I did file a dispute with Capital One, and the four other credit reporting companies. I am currently waiting for a decision on the dispute. Wish me luck!

- The minimum amount due is not a suggested amount to pay.  It is the amount REQUIRED for you to pay to be considered "Paying as Agreed".  If you fail to pay at least the minimum by the due date(honest mistake or not) you are considered late.  Yep..even if you were $0.01 short.  By your logic you could just pay $1 every month and never be considered late.  If that was really the case, you would have an entire line of "deadbeats" lining up to take advantage of that.

Wish me luck!
- Okay..good luck.  Because the only way that this will come out how you want it is if they as a "Customer Service" issue fix your report.  But since you are no longer a customer, you probably have a better chance of winning the Powerball lottery, getting struck by lightning, and getting elected President of the United States all on the same day than you do of this coming out how you think it should.
