I have been with Capital Once since 2005. Today I was told that if Capital one would remove a few late payment dates from my report, I would be approved for my new home all on my own without a co-signer. I spoke with two different representatives at Capital One explaining that I had bank statements showing the payments for the months showing late. I paid off the account completely with all interest. After the account was paid off I requested account cancellation. 

The agent was argumentative and used what we call the "Objection Response Monologue" on me for over 15 minutes on why I shouldn't cancel the account. I told him I still wanted to cancel the account. Some months later I decided I would check with capital one's website to make sure the cancellation had been done. It had not been and I owed another balance. I paid the balance and had the account cancelled (it really has been this time). Because it was not done when requested 3 more months show as late. Capital One is refusing to take a way the late payments that were a direct result of the agent not listening to my demands. The refuse to offer any assistance whatsoever. I have never seen a company more unwilling to work with you than Capital One. Never do business with them. No matter how much you pay you will never receive customer service.
