On Friday, July 5, 2002, I received a CapitalFirst Benefits Package in the mail indicating that I had seven (7) days to decide if I wanted to take advantage of their program. The package also indicated that if I wanted to take advantage of their program there would be an annual membership fee of $99.95 and a one-time set up fee of $59.95 debited from my checking account.

On Monday, July 8, 2002, I was advised by my bank that CapitalFirst Benefits had already deducted both the $99.95 and $59.95 from my checking account. I was perplexed.

Today on Tuesday, July 9, 2002, well within the seven (7) day grace period, I called CapitalFirst at 1-866-892-6018 and advised their representative "SONJA" that I wanted to cancel my benefits. Although very persistent about wanting to cancel, Sonja continually reiterated the reasons why I should not cancel. Very adamantly I told her I was not interested in her program and wanted to cancel her benefits. I was told by Sonja that I was the first (1st) person to ever not accept their program. I again told her that I was in no shape or form interested in what CapitalFirst had to offer and that I wanted the $99.95 and $59.95 credited back to my checking account. Sonja then told me that she could not do that because I had accepted the program on May 21, 2002. This is an outright lie.

As of this moment, I guess I am out of $99.95 and $59.95 and hope that there will be no other debits to my account. I am in the process of contacting the Better Business Bureau in Miami and my attorney locally. I sincerely hope no other innocent individuals get caught up in this scheme.

Request a dispute form from your bank for unathorized charges. (You haveto go to your bank, you cannot do it over the phone.)
Your bank ABLE to get back your money, if your account was debited in less than 30 days ago.
