I can relate to just about every report on this website regarding Carhop. It's really to bad that we cant contact each other on this site. We should create a website where we can connect directly. I may make a site and post the website address in a future update. Have any good web domain ideas? Carhop Ripoff . com?

I went to Carhop in a desperate situation like most here. I was going though a divorce and my wife was taking our only car. Like others has experience Carhop told me what car I can have. So I took the car like an idiot and filled out all the annoying paper work! A few days later I took it to a shop and found out they sold me an accident car for 7 grand!

My payments are over 300 a month! The car should of been junked but they salvaged it and sold it to a sucker like me! Carhop is laughing right now and thinking this is like stealing candy from a baby! Now I just got laid off so keeping up with payment of over $160 every 2 weeks is not easy and I'm feeling the burn now so I have not choice but to do something!

When I called UAC (UAC and Carhop are under one company) to ask what my options were since im laid off they firmly said if I'm one day off on a payment the car goes up for repo! Just one day late? Ouch! Now that's a good way put people in a hard spot! When you put people in hard spots to a point they cant sleep at night your chances of getting pulled into court have increased! If you would sell the cars at a reasonable price with reasonable payment you can still make money and really do good business. [continued below]....
..... Think about it, the sooner the car is paid off the sooner we can move on! Carhop will try and tell you the big price tag is to to build your credit and honor the warranty! That's a joke because there are easier ways to repair your credit then Carhop! And there brutal to work with when trying to get the car covered under warranty! In the end they may fix your car if your lucky but not after they give you a hard time about it!

When you try and take your car for repairs your it usually goes to the back of the line and you have to wait for days! The auto shops seem make very little money from Carhop cars. I have even been told "You have to wait because your car is a Carhop car!" Not sure what kind of deal they have worked out but the auto shops that work with Carhop do not respect you at all! Not only that but they will try and avoid fixing anything on the car and honor the warranty. I have to keep taking the car back to the shop over and over again. I have had the same check engine light on since I had this car. The CEL light was reset at least 15 times! How much more depressing and demoralizing can this get?!?! Well this is only a little part of the story, I don't want to say to much and give my self away so they see me coming.

Carhop while your sitting out there in your million dollar home and driving one of your expensive hot cars remember people are out here with there blood on your hands and a car that's barely street legal How can you sleep at night knowing what you are doing to other human beings! What's the matter with you?!?!

The fact Carhop uses Western Union to take extra payments seems odd to me. Could be nothing but I think that should raise some questions? Maybe something there?

Oh yeah I just tried to call the 800 number one of them left in rebuttal to other complaint and they said they cant help me and I have to talk to UAC! Yeah that's what I though! Forget that they are full of lies and just trying to sound good and justify there ridiculous business practices!

Note: If your a previous employee of Carhop and hated your job please post your story here so no more suckers get pulled into there trap!

Enough said for now but this not over Carhop!

Angry with UAC

I have had a bad experience with uac and carhop- they messed up canceling my auto pay and double charged me and it's there fault but they won't refund me the money or the bank NSF fee- pulse they sold me a piece of crap of a car, that has more issues than i can count once i get enough money I am letting them repo and be done with it, I can build credit better than dealing with carhop i know it will go on credit but at this point i am done with them,

carhop/uac inbound call script says to deny all warranty claims on the first call.  only the most hard headed customers can get their vehicle repaired.  exclusively used parts a provided by carhop to the shop for repairs.  no matter what.  I have seen them pay over new retail value for used parts to be supplied.  even on the third time the same problem was repaired.  when vehicles are purchased for each lot, the service technician is only permitted to authorize $250 in repairs.  no mater how dangerous the car is to drive.  abs brake issues are never repaired, per standing written carhop policy.  any brake parts that need to be replaced are serviced with used parts.  if the vehicle comes in with airbags deployed or frame damage, it is still sold to the unsuspecting customer with NO disclosure.  however, they don't do body work.  if any body work was done, it was done by the company that sold them the car.  if the car come in with a dent, it is sold with a dent.  mileage discrepancies are sent back to the wholesaler, but if cars come in with too many miles on them, i have seen "computer problems" diagnosed, and the computer replaced with a used one with less miles.

the new uac repo policy is to repo the vehicle if the account goes 4 days late, per a telephone conversation with Denean (sorry if i spelled your name wrong).  Denean is a supervisor with uac.  uac should be able to provide a recording of the conversation.  if they can't i will record my next conversation.
