My father who recently began showing signs of dimentia, called to RONCO to order some knives he saw on TV. RONCO put him into a "phone adversement" while on hold, prompting him to get a "fabulous cruise deal" for limited time, little $$, etc... press #A now... So he did then he was on the phone with a VERY PUSHY sales person making it sound all good. So he unfortunately gave them his credit card # and they gave him confirmation #. Never explaining the specific dates of travel etc. My father is on dialysis and heavy meds so he did not make the proper judement.
I called 2 days later and explained to them that he is ill and has bouts of early dimentia & I have power of atty and we are under 72 hour law. They immediately became HOSTILE, and tried to talk about my rudeness and he ordered it under his own free will and I cannot cancel it etc... I explained he is unable to Fly, or go anyplace due to his dying condition and they continuted to badger me, bully me until I was forced to become verbally abusive. This is SICK. I work full time, take care of my family and we all try to monitor my father and undo his mistakes. They wanted me to tell them in detail WHAT specifically would impair him from travelling. WTF ...GEE maybe the fact that he has dialysis 3 times a week for 4 hours... isn't enough and they continued to insist HE get on the phone after I was told by 2 associates they would no longer converse with ME... after they had me on the phone for 1 solid hour trying to get them to give the refund. It was pure ABUSE and was ABSURD that I had to go thru that. Aside from calling the bank and also filing with the BBB. I have been on 8 cruises...all with LEGITIMATE cruise lines..who in 1 case refunded me in 24 hrs because I had pancreatitis 2 weeks prior to my sail date & they gave me a full refund PLUS A COUPON FOR RE-BOOKING when I was better. STAY AWAY FROM ANYTHING ASSOCIATED WITH CARIBBEAN CRUISE LINE, ROBERT MITCHELL, FT. LAUDERDALE, FL on the TV, phone, mail or internet.
