An Ideal Vacation?

My husband received a phone call last year from this Caribbean Cruise Line offering a very intruiging cruise package.  However, their method of manipulating my husband into bending to pay for it, with the little money we had, is unheard of.  They told him not to talk to me before he made the decision; that the only time he had to make up his mind is before the phone call ended.  He fell for it because he wanted a nice vacation for us this year (2013).

He was given some information, but not enough.  There were no pamphlets mailed to us to help us plan our trip; there were no details on who the rental cars are through; no details on where we would stay in a hotel. 

We received a garbled email with a registration id and password to enter at their website.  I tried many times to get through to their www.(yournamehere).isonvacation.com and it dropped me time after time.  When I spoke to one of their representatives about this over the telephone on May 30, 2013, she told me my computer and my IPhone are broke. 

I decided I was tired of working so hard at getting information for vacation planning.  And I should not be struggling with any of this if it is a legitimate travel company. So I called and spoke with three different representatives.  I must say I have never received poorer customer service in my life, ever.  The first gal said she would email me the information I was seeking.  i have yet to receive that email. When I asked for information to be mailed out to me, she did not confirm my street address.  I mentioned that we have moved and I wasn't sure what they had on file.  I had to pull teeth to get her to confirm things with me. All the information they give to you about your trip is a verbal speed through and they don't stop to talk about it in detail.  It feels as though you are wasting their time calling about the details of your trip.  So I decided I want out of all of this.  I phoned back and asked if it is possible to get our refund.  She transferred me to someone in upper management.  She told me we cannot be refunded and pointed out that this was the first phone call I have ever made about this trip.  I said yes it is.  It is because I trusted that my husband knew what he was doing until I looked closer at the information he received from this company.  It is because we are planning on vacationing August 2013.  This is where we wanted to go.  I told her I did not appreciate the way they pressured my husband without giving him the chance to talk to me first and this representative started yelling at me.  I asked if she is aware of all the online complaints about their company and she said, "Yes, I am".  I told her it doesn't seem like she is or she wouldn't be yelling at me.  I felt forced to hang up because she would not calm down.  Very poor customer service and company representing skills.

I've also filed a complaint with CFPB.  I don't know at this time if they can help us but people need to be aware of what is going on with Caribbean Cruise Line in Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

We are walking away from this because:

     1.  We will not travel 4,000 miles for an "iffy" trip without tangible proof it exists.

     2.  We were treated very poorly by their trip planners and it leaves us with no confidence in them.

     3.  They will not refund our $200.00

     4.  They treat a lot of people this way.
