Carmax Continual Maintanence Problems and Repairs miamisburg, Ohio
*Consumer Comment: Don't buy the warranty gimmick.
*UPDATE Employee: Not all car salesmen are bad
*Consumer Comment: Not strictly a Carmax issue.
The trans-axle differential had to be replaced at a cost of $1,750. When the trans-axle work was done they found the rear brakes were shot and needed replaced for $450.
This week I had to have the front right bearing replaced at a cost of $800.
When you buy a used car with only 50,000 miles you 'trust' the dealer to have sold you a good quality car. So much for their 125+ point inspection.
No, I did not buy the extended warranty because I've owned enough cars in my life to know that it's more of a marketing gimmick than anything. In buying a car from a dealer I expect the dealer to have done it's part in making sure the car is in good working order. Sadly, this was not the case. I called the dealer to tell them about the problems and all I got was "you didn't buy the extended warranty" line and not a concern for the problems with the car. I would not recommend anyone to purchase from Carmax.
