You would think they are making enough off the price of the ticket to see the movie that they would not have to gouge people for the food they sell.
My response, just take your own food, they do not have any signs up at any theater that I have been to that says you cannot take in your own food. There are no laws refraining from people taking their own food into a place like a theater if no signs are posted.
Eat before you go see a movie or else just take your own food in with you. You can buy the boxes of candy at any walmart for 99 cents at the most and take in cans of pop with you in your coat pockets. With the economy the way it is why let places gouge people on things like food??

POSTED: Wednesday, December 26, 2012Because that is how much people like you are willing to pay. Trust me, if nobody bought their sodas and popcorn at those outrageous prices, they wouldn't sell them for outrageous prices. Consumers call the shots and apparently they're willing to pay $12 for popcorn. You lose.
" they do not have any signs up at any theater that I have been to that says you cannot take in your own food. "
Almost every theater I've been to bars customers from bringing in food from outside. Some have signs others don't. It's common sense that you don't bring your own food to a place that sells it. Do you think you'd be welcome in a fancy restaurant if you walked in carrying your own, less expensive food? Do you think they really need a sign to tell you that is not acceptable behavior?

Please tell me that you are younger than 12 yrs. old. There are no signs saying you can't bring your horse into a theater. Does that mean you can do it? There are no signs prohibiting you from chucking old fruit at the screen. Does that mean it's OK? Is everything in your life this simple? No sign, no foul?
Short answer. Movie theaters are private property. They can make whatever rules they want to and they don't need to post them on signs. If you can sneak your food in, fine. If they happen to catch you, they are well within their rights to kick you out.
Good luck with your master plan! Personally, I think your best bet is to obtain enough self control that you don't have to shove overpriced junk food down your throat while watching a movie.
