Cash Advance Department of Legal Investigations Threatened to have me arrested for a fraudulent (non-existent) payday loan. Had some of my personal information and wanted me to pay them $ to avoid being arrested. Riverside, California

They basically claim you have a large outstanding payday loan with (name of company changes) and that it has not been paid back. She knew she never got such a loan but they then provided her some of her own personal information such as name, address, phone # & even SS# then claimed that the police would be to her location shortly to have her arrested unless she paid $X immediately. She was scared but luckily didn't give them any more personal info and called me right away to ask what she should do.
These guys are true slime bags and I would be EXTREMELY excited to participate in a class-action suit or any other action to stop them.
